Exclusive TheGamer101 Swordfighting Minigames: Sneak Peek!

Hello RN Readers! Rob498 here, and I'm here today to give you an exclusive sneak peek into the TheGamer101's upcoming game, Swordfighting Minigames...

The game is being built by TheGamer101 and ColdEfficiency and as of now is about 40% completed. And at this moment there are about 10 minigames, TheGamer101 hopes to have about 15 minigames when it's released.

There are 10 swords and they are all around the same damage area, because if you do had someone with a Darkheart against someone with a normal sword it wouldn't be fair.

When released, TheGamer101 will add in badges, VIPs, and more minigames over time. There has be no official release date yet, but when released, it will be hopefully a great addition and hit to the front page.

As a Beta Tester and being lucky enough to test this game, and managed to record a minigame on it, take a look:

Hey Roblox News readers!

Hey everyone, I'm a new publisher here at the Roblox News so I'll be writing some articles in the near future and etc. Here's my bio, ;)

I joined ROBLOX back on Sept. 5th, 2008, and have loved it here ever since.

I'm an avid forumer, with over 27,000 forum posts and a Top 50 poster badge, I'm a graphics designer which means I make ads and logos for people on ROBLOX, I'm also a successful TC'er and Investor.

That's basically a short bit of info about me, see you around guys!

Recently a special hat simply called 'evil duck' was released to the catalog by brighteyes. As many 2008 players may know, this is a retexture and a remesh of the original epic duck hat. This was brought out by ROBLOX on april fools day and came out of the purple mystery box. So what lays in store for ROBLOXians over the coming days? What could this duck mean? What could happen? Roblox on A Mac?

ROBLOX On A Mac?

Yes, I know what your thinking… no one ever thought this was going to happen! But ROBLOX has really been stepping up the pace. In 4 years they have gone from a small community to over 1.4 million users! But there are only so many Windows users out there, and when expanding their range to the mac platform, they increased their chance of growth. More players mean more fun games and money to fund ROBLOX to hire staff to keep creating cool new features.

Although so many users demanded this step, it will take a while to get it up to the same standards as on a windows computer. The ROBLOX staff had to recompile their code to a whole new language, Objective-C. Mater of fact, that’s what I wrote my ROBLOX iPod applications in.

See a preview of this Mac version in the screenshot below. I am in one or arbirator’s places. Most of the features and appearance is the same, but there are some differences like the black chat bar and mac window. Some features are also still limited, like no screen videos and no edit mode.

Dominus Frigidus

So the much anticipated Dominus has arrived! Many ROBLOXians claimed that they had the texture for this hat, but were exposed to be false. Much more mystery surrounded this hat compared to the other Dominus hats. This is obviously because of Seth Desub. I think the price wasn't too bad and I actually really like the texture. So, what do you guys think about it? Win or fail? Comment below!

NEW ROBLOX Moderator: Briguy9876!

As many of you know, briguy9876 owns a blog called Briguy's Roblox, this is on the blogroll on the official developers blog. He has had a long relationship with the game and has communicated with the staff often. He now has an official job at ROBLOX HQ as a moderator.

So what does he moderate? Briguy moderates images and the ROBLOX forums. It is important that images are thoroughly checked for any inappropriate content, as many other users may see and use this image. It is also very important that the forums are moderated as what posted there, if not moderated will stay there forever, meaning anyone on ROBLOX can see it. So welcome Briguy as a mod, and congratulate him on getting the job!

NEW Feature on sitetest!

When you register a new account on sitetest.roblox.com you are given a choice, if you choose that you are a boy, you will be given a ROBLOX 2011 Visor and an exclusive body. If you choose to be a girl however, you do not receive a body, but you receive two hats, one of which is Fuchsia Fantastique and a face. Bear in mind, this is just a test, and both boys and girls will most likely get a body each. However this signifies an important event for ROBLOX: Bodies released to NBC!

Hio guys. Over the weekend ROBLOX has released lots of new Knight themed hats. The Medieval theme remains one of the most popular themes of ROBLOX, which hundreds of user built castles and Medieval villages. So to add to his brilliant theme, here is a batch of new hats!

A ROBLOX News Exclusive: ROBLOX Wiki App

Hio ROBLOX fans, we have something really cool to share with you, the new Wiki app which will soon be available free on the iTunes app store!

This new app is basicly an ipod compatible version of the ROBLOX wiki and Clockworks calculator. It comes with cool app logos and nicely designed, easy to use GUI. It provides a faster way to visit these websites and a whole app for it! Made by ROBLOX User cowbear16, it is unclear whether it will be made official or not by the ROBLOX Team. So when it is avaible on the store, why not give it a try?

ROBLOX: Make a wish!

Fourteen-year-old Seth Deesub became a millionaire Thursday, although the funds did come with one restriction — they can only be used in the virtual world of ROBLOX.

Having 1 million Robux, the virtual currency used in ROBLOX, makes the teen the richest player in the history of the virtual game created by the San Mateo company of the same name. Deesub, from Lawndale, Calif., had the chance to not only become a millionaire but meet those who put together the game he enjoys as part of a wish recently granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Deesub spends lots of time in the hospital, said his father Dusdee who goes by Luke.

“He’s not usually talkative,” his mom, Suree Deesub, added.

But that was not the case Thursday.

Deesub spent four hours at the San Mateo business as an honorary staff member learning the ins and outs of the game, getting a sneak peak of unreleased features and helping design a hooded hat, called dominus frigidus, which will be sold in the world.

“Can I buy it first?” an eager Deesub asked his partner in design, Market Manager Christina McGrath, who promised to let him know before it was released for sale.

Deesub plays ROBLOX often. The online kids gaming site allows players to be the architects of their own world. Players can build social hangouts, invite others to party, talk online and purchase items — which is where the Robux comes in handy.

Before Thursday, Deesub had about 600 Robux. When he returns home this weekend, Deesub can start a shopping spree.

“I play ROBLOX a lot. I was living a really happy life. And I really didn’t want anything else,” Deesub said when asked why he chose this wish.

Deesub asked for the cash and the visit was an extra special treat. And to the teen, these guys were rock stars. After sitting in on a development meeting, he collected the business card from CEO David Baszucki, whom Deesub had sign his business card. This move started a larger collection. Deesub asked for the business card and autograph of all 25 employees. Those without cards readily available signed a piece of paper, many adding their in-world user name.

“I’d stay at this office all day long if I could,” Deesub said while reviewing his new business card collection.

Unless ROBLOX experienced a lot of inflation, Deesub thinks the money will last him a long time, which also means his dad won’t be asked to provide access to his credit card anytime soon.

I think this was great, and Telamon should be praised for the work he is doing, with both the Red Cross and make a wish. I salute you sir!

Japan Theme!

We would like to announce our new Japan Theme! If you haven't heard, a couple days ago Japan got hit with an 8.9 Magnitude Earth Quake. Following the Earth Quake there were many Aftershocks and a giant 22 foot high Tsunami that was traveling about 500mph when it hit Japan. We changed our theme to Red and White (Japan's Flag Colors) in a way of saying that we pray for residents of Japan. This new theme will be up for the next couple of weeks.

Tsunami in Japan

As most of you all know, there has been a devastating earthquake of magnitude 8.9. This means it was 2000 more powerful than the one in Christchurch in New Zealand. Swiftly after this, a wave of water sped across the pacific and hit the coast of Japan. This caused massive damage and 500+ people are dead. With many more missing or injured the red cross needs your help to save lives! Donating money to the red cross will provide water and shelter to the Tsunami victims. ROBLOX has set up a scheme with the Red cross, for every Rising Sun cap you buy (130 R$), they will donate $1.00. For every Japanese Baseball Cap you buy (15 R$) they will donate $0.10 to the Red cross.

Roblox Turned on a New update for all Builder's Club members. Loyalty Bonus. You can earn loyalty bonus after you log in, The longer you stay in Builders Club, the bigger the bonus gets (up to some maximum level). If you cancel BC, or it expires, the bonus resets to zero.

You can see the number of bonus ROBUX you are getting at the top of your account balance page.
