New page for guests to the website?

I casually opened ROBLOX and was bewildered when this page hit me:

Notice the new textbox in the left hand bottom corner? This could possibly be a new introduction for guests/new players who are visiting the site for the first time. Also notice how certain areas of the site are removed from the blue page bar, this suggests to me that only registered users who are logged in can see these pages, thus encouraging users to sign up. Finally note that the news section at the bottom is also gone, possibly also for registered users who are logged in.

Whatever this page is, it is probably only a test at this point in time.

Game Genre Wars - Send Your Suggestions

If you don't already know what game genre wars is, I pick 2 types of games from a certain genre, and then compare them. And now it's your chance to send me some suggestions for one. If you have ROBLOX, send them to me Via PM (Diesel40551998) or Via E-mail (dieseldion@hotmail.co.uk). Just pick 2 games from a certain genre (e.g War, Scary) and send them to me. It's first come first served, as Ill be doing the first 6 requests, 1 each week. So get sending!

Independence Day 4th of July!

As most of you know it is the 4th of July of today which means only one thing: American Independence Day! Independence Day celebrates the independence of America from the Kingdom of Great Britain!

Every year ROBLOX celebrates this prestigious holiday with dozens of catalog items, this year being no

different!

LimitedU and a tad expensive! AmeriPhones and the Liberty Torch are great buys!

Revenge of the Whales Place Review

You remember that old game Telamon made? The one with the whales? Remember how he said "This whale may look cute, but remember, if he had a thermonuclear weapon, he would nuke you." Well, ironically that's what this place is about. The only difference is that these whales don't have nukes, they just have large mouths. The mouths are big enough to swallow a robloxian if you catch my drift. Anyway, on to the numbers.

Effort 9/10
From what little I know of scripting I know that the script that Telamon uses and what this guy uses are totally different. However, the whales look exactly the same and the map looks remarkably familiar. However, the creator obviously put a lot of time into this place which is something to be noticed.

Creativity 8/10
Even though the idea of Nuking the whales came a long time ago. The idea of having the whales eat people is a very new and different idea. However, the map is pretty much the same.

Gameplay 9/10
The game works by randomly choosing 1 person to be a whale. The whale is very large and can be killed in one hit by a rocket, however the whale can eat robloxians. There are a few problems with this. When I played I only focused on not getting blown to pieces by the bajillion rockets being fired at me. I'd suggest making the whale faster and maybe taking 3-5 rockets to take it down.
Overall 9/10
Suggestions

• Make the whale faster
• Give the whale the Balefire tool :D
• Make the whale more resilient to rockets
• Gimme 1 tsp of salt

Over the years Search engines have grown and websites use twitter, tmblr, stumbleupon, facebook and other social medias to promote the website. Now google has google +1 it was released a while back. Google plusone is like Face book like, you log into your google account and like a website in google search, it helps google to sort out advertisements (That matches with your =1's) on your gmail and websites you are on.

ROBLOX News is hiring!

Now before you all go sending in your frantic applications, study the following requirements.

To become a staff member here, you have to be extremely active, not necessarily one post a day but fairly close to that. You also have to be a lover of the game, a daily player: someone who understands the game fully and is experienced. No, you don't have to be a veteran! I'm not really interested about the technical sides of things, I won't really mind if you can't script or don't have the faintest idea what HTML is. I'm interested in real writers, ones who are passionate and have good literacy skills. Remember, Roblox News is not about regurgitating information from the official developers journal. We focus on detail and what ROBLOXians want to read.

So, think you have what it takes?

Remember, this is certainly not the last time we will be hiring, so don't be disheartened if you aren't hired. Last time we received dozens of really impressive applications but sadly we cannot hire everyone, there is always a next time!

Roblox News will be running a summer Intern program in a couple of weeks, so look out for that!
