Are Player Points fair?

I have to admit, that Player Points are highly unfair, and they are another way for Roblox to get people to buy things. Robloxians have started buying more Robux so they can then spend their Robux on buying Player Points or buying items that give Available Player Points. So even though they disguise these Player Points behind words talking about how it will let people become known, it really is another ploy in gaining more money for themselves.

Christmas Gift Guessers: Gift of Approval

Hello readers, RayMan36 here with my thumbs permanently fixed in the upright position. I'm sure you know what I'm going to talk about: The new Gift of Approval. Let's begin!

Seems legit enough to me, anyway.

  I've got a couple theories on this myself.

I. Get a Place with at least a 50% like rate.

There's been hints to this in quite a few places. First of all, Roblox likes to give us "site feature" type gifts, such as the outfit, game pass, or paid access gifts. The thumbs up feature came out this year, and there's never been to way to force everybody to use it yet. Also, I was told there was a hint to it in the BloxCast. Apparently, Justus hinted today's gift by giving a thumbs-up, which might have gotten him arrested if he did it in a public park to a roblox user. Thank gosh it was only on a website designed only for kids. Anyway, I'm guessing to have at least a rate of 50% likes.

I really don't think this is likely, but the only reason I put it in here is because of the desc, "Seems legit". This is mainly unlikely because there was a gift like it a while ago. The gift not only opened, but went limited. Unlikely.

Game Passes: The best configure setting yet?

Hello, me again with some news. I have recently, well just found out that ROBLOX have added a "Game Pass" option. Making it easier for users to give other users benefits at their game for paying a certain price. This was a great thing to add to ROBLOX, as it gives users who can't script the choice to make a Premium Pass without the shame of free models. This is a great option to add for users. You can read the full post here.

These new Game Passes are fairly simple to use, as they don't have much of a complication.

 This is the step-by-step guide of how to make one if you've never made one before. It's also a fairly simple process. You make an image, I suggest Paint.NET or Adobe Photoshop. As they are probably some of the best photo editing software out there. Make your name catchy, more users would want to buy it if you give a nice, snappy title that gives out a bit of information. Make the description nice, easy to read sort of style. Then, just upload, simple as that!

Roblox Studio 2.0: A step in the right direction?

Now, as we may know. Roblox studio 2.0 is in progression and currently being made by the ROBLOX admins. Roblox studio 2.0 is actually better than some users expect it to be. Personally, I like ROBLOX Studio 2.0, but the loss of some building tools has annoyed me. I don't use the default move and resize tools. I use the old ones from years ago (I find them more reliable). But a lot of new people like the newest building tools. Studio 2.0 is a very nice update, they have made the interface designs better, made it easier to control, and less confusing. I can't wait until this is out of BETA and ready to be used.

I would like Studio or Studio 2.0 to be an option so you don't have to use 2.0 if you don't want to. I took a look at 2.0 and I found it very nice. I do like it lots, but I still prefer studio 1.0. They have now in Studio 2.0 made math.() be highlighted in blue when writing scripts, so I like that lots. Although I would prefer it if they added auto-tabbing so that you don't have to keep tapping the tab button to organize your scripts.

Overall, studio 2.0 is a great addition, for all those Newbies and Old Robloxians. It's fun to build with, but still has some flaws I hate so much. I loved old tools that moved/resized things. But now we have to use those new ones in it, I would use 1.0 more.

Just recently, I discovered an advertisement on Roblox. It wasn't your ordinary advertisement, it was a video one. Here is some evidence of it's existence video and picture.

The Trading System Imminent!

The trading system is finally arriving! Hallelujah!

An hour ago, John Shedletsky - creative director at ROBLOX, tweeted this:

April is, obviously, just around the corner and so this news will make many ROBLOXians jump with glee! The trading system has been talked about for well over a year now and users have been quite literally begging for them to produce one.

John thought that it was a good investment for the site and its users and so began work on it, however, before anything could be constructed; they had to decide how it should operate and what the user interface should look like. This became a bit of a problem as all fours types of trading system had their advantages and disadvantages.

- Real time face-to-face trading


Pros:

• Trades happen quickly once someone you want to trade with is found
• Easy to understand so players can get right into trading
• It has a fun feel and nice personal touch

Cons: 

• You can only trade with players who are online 
• You have to find someone “good” to trade with – they have to want what you have and have what you want. If you are looking for rare items, this can be very difficult.

- Bulletin board trading 


Pros:

• You can trade with people who aren’t online. Other people can trade with you when you are not online. This means more potential trading partners. 
• Easy to find people offering rare items. Common trades (between like-valued objects) can be executed instantly, since you don’t even need to talk to another person. 
• Offers are public, so everyone has a good idea of what different items are worth.

Cons: 

• Complicated trades involving many items are hard to find matches for. Ex: A, B, C, D, and F for X, Y, Z, and Q. 
• All trades are public – you don’t specify who on the other end you trade with. Harder to wheel and deal

- Send Specific Offers Through Private Messages


Pros:

• You can trade with people who aren’t online.
•  You can trade with specific people. 
• Pretty simple to understand. 
• Wheeling and dealing happens in a public forum, so it’s probably harder to get ripped off because someone will tell you a trade is bad.

Cons: 

• Takes a lot of “leg work” to find a good trading partner. 
• Trading can be slow – by the time you hunt down someone who has the item you want, they may have traded it away already. It might take you 1-3 days to find out he doesn’t even have what you want any more.
•  Have/Want lists posted to a forum doesn’t seem like a very advanced system. Forums were not built with the idea of trading in mind, and Option C makes a forum “the spot” where all the trading action happens. A dedicated interface would offer better affordances.

- Real Time Auction House Best Offer


Pros:

• A real time auction would be exciting for rare items or expensive sets of items. 
• The buyer gets the best possible deal anyone present is willing to offer. So it’s hard to get ripped off. 
• The results of the auction are public, so everyone has a good idea of what different items are worth. 
• This is a super easy way to unload 50 worthless items at the same time and get back something good in return.

Cons:

• A real time auction would be boring for common items or cheap sets of items. 
• You can only trade with people who are: 1) online and 2) present in the auction house. This probably makes it harder to get the best possible price for a rare item that may not have many potential buyers. 
• When you want to trade, you want to trade. You don’t want to stand in line to sell items.
•  If there aren't enough buyers logged into the auction house, the whole system stops working.

Arabian Knight Scimitar Review

Hello ROBLOXians!
Today I will be reviewing the Arabian Knight Scimitar gear. I think this gear is amazing and I will tell you why.

Mesh: I think the mesh of this gear is very interesting; because it has a slightly crooked (in a good way) handle, and the hilt is also crooked. The blade looks sharp and deadly. There is some tiny room for improvement though. 9.9/10

Texture: The texture is very inventive; as it has symbols on the blade, and has a nice yellow colour. I don't think there is any downsides with the texture. There are also pearl-looking objects (coloured red) on the hilt. 10/10

In-Game Abilities: In-Game, when you equip this item, your character adopts a special pose, which makes your character use both their hands to hold the sword. And, whenever you hit someone with the sword, it gives them a burn that will slowly blox them over time. But, sometimes the pose and the burn ability don't work. 8/10

My favorite part of it: My favorite part is the fire that is on it. It is a nice yellow colour, and because all the items with fire that I have seen are either: Limited/ Limited U, ROBLOX Card Exclusives, Or gift items. So this gives people the nice chance to obtain an item with fire.

Overall: This is an amazing gear with amazing qualities; and you must buy it if you have 450 ROBUX! I give it an overall 9/10!

ROBLOX: Coming to the iPad!

1 Hour ago, David Baszucki (Builderman) - the CEO of ROBLOX tweeted this:

 This means the ROBLOX developers are hard at work at making ROBLOX games playable on the iPad. This would represent a huge step in technological advancement and success. He also mentioned in a later tweet that the demo ran at 10 Fps. It's one thing making it playable on a different operating system, but on a device that runs iOS - Apple's Mobile Operating System, it is a great leap forward. One year ago, no one would have dreamt that it would be possible for ROBLOX to be played on the iPad, but here we are!

In today's age, technology development is accelerating at a incredible pace; with amazing devices that once appeared in distant Sci-fi movies showing up on shop shelves and being sold in the millions. David does mention that there is no release date, but there is a possibility that it will be shipped this year. So, look out for more info from his twitter @DavidBaszucki or from the other ROBLOX Staff!

NEW Upload your own Game Thumbnail Picture!

Tired of trying to get that perfect angle for your game thumbnail?

Well, have no fear, this great new feature is here!

This feature allows users to upload their own pictures which they made on an image editing program, and use it as their places' thumbnail! Perfect for graphic artists or for people who can't get the right thumbnail in-game.

To use this, first of all you select "Configure place" on the place of your choice, underneath the description which you write for your game, it should be in the "Displayed image" tab, check the box that says "Upload my own image", select your picture, and you're ready to go!

New ROBLOX Feature: Recently Played Game

A new page element has been added to the 'My Home' section of the website. If you click 'see more', you can view all the games you have played recently (after the feature was added). This is a nice little touch that helps you keep track of games you play and refer back to them for future notice.

It will also help boost favourites as users will remember how good a game was that they visited a few days ago and simply check to see which game it was and add it to their favourites list!

Place Review: Natural Disaster Survival

So, I decided to review a very popular place called "Natural Disaster Survival", created by Stickmasterluke. The reason I'm reviewing this is because it had over 2,000 players on December 3rd. This proved that Stickmasterluke is very famous because of the high population it had on it's first day. This place is also Mega, no wonder it got so famous. :P



So, we start off like always talking about the thumbnail. This thumbnail shows us the island we'll be playing on through the entire game. Just a simple house? You're probably wondering, well the map changes often. This thumbnail doesn't explain much, but that it's going to be on an island.

I came in here expecting a free modeled natural disaster place, I was so wrong. I was spawned in a lobby created by Stickmasterluke, it's a huge tower. It's high up because there are natural disasters that go up high. So, I waited until a round started. It started in an office building.

The first natural disaster I experienced was a flood. I didn't realize it was a flood, because it doesn't warn you. Clouds start building up in the sky and it begins to rain. I saw everyone heading to the roof of the office building, I was wondering what was going on. I then saw the water rise, I didn't think it was going to happen. I tried leaving, but the water had risen to impossible heights. I didn't survive the first disaster, how sad.

I'm shocked to find out that these Natural Disasters are realistic. I did get a chance to experience Lightning and a Tsunami. I survived only one of those, it was the Tsunami. It's a scary reality that these disasters happen in this world, but we have to deal with them until we die...

Scripting: 10/10, it's obvious that it's scripted.
Tools: 10/10, no tools are needed for this place, just your survival skills.
Building: 10/10, obvious that this has CFrame and more.
General Enjoyment: 10/10, I enjoyed this very much.
Originality: 0/10, too many disaster places.
Creativity:  0/10, same as above
Deals with Problems: 7/10, Stick should add a warning on what disaster it will be.
Deals with Lag: 10/10, no lag.

Overall: 8.5/10, it's cool and I would recommend this to the thrill seekers.

Roblox Game Cards Coming to UK?

Recently, Brighteyes announced on Twitter that ROBLOX Game cards are coming to the UK, Plus she also states that some Sainsburys in the UK already sell them.

This is amazing news for some, this will maybe mean more gear exclusive items, more people in Builders club, and more importantly, More happy players. There have been rumors of a UK exclusive design on front, but this rumor was started up by players, and the rumor is probably fake.

Also on another note, Due to some lurking on site test, I stumbled upon this.

 It turns out there are $40 Dollar Game Cards coming out soon.

Looking at this, it seems that $40 dollar cards will include another unique item every month (The Shaggy is just for the site testing, I can almost guarantee it will not be that Item) and that it will make way for more money towards Roblox, so Telamon can eat.

But we hope to see Game Cards all over the globe, and through the universe.

The Pros and Cons of the Trade System

Now as you may already know (How can you not know?), There is a Trade System coming very soon. This will enable users to freely trade Limited collectable items between themselves. But with this, comes problems. As highlighted by Deltaforce96 in a previous post. Highlighting that without buying limiteds, the cost of Robux goes up. But, There will be a gap to make a little something when the system is released. For example: Take this list of prices.

So, lets say, that when the Trade System is released, Sellers B and C want to trade their hat with one of their friends, This will happen.

The price gap becomes more wide, and creating a more appealing 'snipe' as it were, Which you could easily snap up and make a quick and decent profit from.

But. It may not work that way.

Seller A and B may want to trade with their friends, causing the prices to go up even more
