Double Review Week Finale!

Yes, DRW ended very quickly, but the 1st review wasn't a total disappointment. The previous review was about a game about assassins and cars that drive themselves. This game is called "Ultimate Assassin", where you have to kill your target if your an assassin, or run away from your assassin, or defend the target. This amazing game was created by Hikia.



The picture of course explains the entire game, it's about assassinating. The picture contains in the middle a target with UA in it standing for "Ultimate Assassin" and the name of the place. Also, you see a few glowing characters and a few characters in the background. This map looks like a warehouse to me, but who knows?

When you enter the game you are placed in the spawn area. This area looks very much like a house, well, it is. This spawn area contains a few knights in armor, wooden stairs, a picture above the stairs. If the round has not begun yet, you have to wait until it does. When a round ended, I saw a newspaper pop up saying "User was shot and killed by User" or something like that, that means the round has ended.

So, you have to wait until the round starts again. It starts and a map is chosen, the assassin, target, and defenders will be teleported. If your in a city, you'll see cars who drive themselves. Other maps I did not see because I only played like 5 minutes of the game, laugh out loud?

The assassin is picked randomly and so is the target. The defenders are given a choice between two classes of weapons in order to defend the target. The assassin must chase the target around and kill him/her, before the defenders kill the assassin. You'll see a GUI if your a defender that has the picture of the assassin and the target, one says "kill" another says "defend". This game seems so interesting, lol.

Scripting: 10/10, scripts everywhere, I enjoyed the one where cars drive themselves.
Tools: 10/10, all necessary tools are here and don't need more.
Building: 10/10, different maps that are well built.
General Enjoyment: 10/10, this game is very fun, I'm going to play it more often.
Originality: 10/10, I've never seen a game like this before.
Creativity: 10/10, very creative, no further comments
Deals with Problems:10/10, doesn't deal with problems at all.
Deals with Lag: 10/10, no lag at the moment for me.

Overall: 10/10, a perfect score!

Double Review Week: Flood Escape

What is Double Review Week? It's a little special thing I wanted to do, let me explain it some more. I review two places in one week, double the reviews I do in a week. I just wanted to do this as a little gift to the ROBLOX News fans. So, our first review is about a place called "Flood Escape", a game about escaping a flood in an inclosed area. Game created by crazyblox.

I'm going to explain the picture, in a few short sentences. This game obviously is about escaping floods, made it too obvious game creator? You'll see a guy "dead" in the water, while another guy is crying for help while his friend who is "dead" is underwater. This picture of course is in game and is obvious because you see studs. Not much in this picture, what a boring start to DRW? (DRW = double review week).

When we enter, we see two doors one with "Multiplayer" and another with "Story Mode". Multiplayer is pretty obvious that you can play with other people and Story Mode is under construction, maybe being built. So, we go into Multiplayer and what do we see? Yes, a guy holding some paper thing and saying "#/10 players left", "Intermission", "Get ready to play", etc. He's not so important what is important is the thing with glass in the middle.

The glass thing in the middle is called a "Lift", if you enter you'll be teleported. It might say "Wait for round to start" or some other thing. If your at the part where it says "lowering elevator" and are being lowered somewhere, your doing well.

Wherever you are, you'll hear an alarm and music will begin playing. The music you hear is suspenseful and dramatic. The alarm is simple, but it sure is effective. You are placed in a map where you must get to higher ground in order to survive and if you don't you'll drown and get killed. There should be a box that will protect you from drowning, but it's so high up.

Scripting: 10/10, amazing scripts, good music, good job.
Tools: 10/10, it doesn't need tools at all, so I give it a 10.
Building: 7/10, does need more maps and more advanced building.
General Enjoyment: 10/10, people love this game because it's fun and addicting, and it helps prepare ourselves in a real flood.
Originality: 5/10, I've seen many flood games before (lava, water, dirt, chocolate)
Creativity: 1/10, like above.
Deals with Problems: 10/10, no obvious problems.
Deals with Lag: 8/10, a few lag here and there.

Overall: 9/10, it's a great game, would recommend this to people.

Spooky Retextures 2011 Winner: LiLDJX!

LiLDJX has won the Roblox News Halloween Retexture Contest with his entry: 'Masked Hood of Halloween'.

This entry particularly stood out to me as being one the most creative entries that was entered, as well as it having a brilliant design and fitting colours. The hood really brings out the sense of Halloween with the black and yellow colour scheme and the number of bats situated on top; really bringing out that spooky feel!

LiLDJX is an accomplished Retexturer now and I think many budding graphic designers could learn thing or two from his amazing work.

So, as the winner of the contest, he deserves a suiting prize. Earlier on in the contest Brighteyes said she would view any entries that I sent her that particularly stood out to me, I sent her the 8 entries including this one. This is the one she took and has already being uploaded as a texture by ROBLOX.

LiLDJX's prize is having his entry published as a real hat to the Catalog!

ROBLOX Halloween Level Review (With Video!)

Making a Halloween level has been a tradition for ROBLOX. A tradition stretching as far back as 2006. At first they only did treasure hunts. Now they're doing combat levels. Some people like that idea and others do not. Either way, I am going to review this place.
Gameplay 10/10
There are two teams in this place. The Pumpkins and the Monsters. The basic goal of the game is to capture control points. The control points give points to whoever owns them every five seconds. The team with the most points at the end of the round wins. It's also fun to simply run around and shoot the other team with your paintball gun.
Effort 10/10
The effort put into this place is amazing. It just shows how good the terrain generator can be if used properly. The underground tunnels are my favorite part of the map. There are also some great C-frame uses and everything looks absolutely great.
Creativity 8/10
ROBLOX has done a paintball level in the past and this place is a bit like it. However, the guns are different, the map is different, and the gameplay is different.
Overall 9.5/10
Suggestions

• Add more badges/hats
• Reducing lag
• Adding a dragon (Added)

As Halloween neared players prepared for the presents and anticipated what would be in them.
They learned that an image of a Retextured Dominus had been leaked to the public.



The image quickly spread throughout the internet and it was widely accepted to be the new dominus.
The final gifts opened and a new green Dominus came out and players were confused.
People began to question if the Retexture that had been leaked was going to be released.

Brighteyes said:
'No that was a decoy.'

So it seems the ROBLOX were able to pull off a good trick over the ROBLOX community.

Hello there young investor! If you are looking to make Robux, I advise staying away from Scythe Sayer. The new hat is selling at a price of 1,000 Robux. There are 750 Scythe Sayer's in stock. At the moment, 155 Scythe Sayer's have sold. This item has been out for for an hour, and has been selling slowly. Even though I do not like the profit capabilities, I do like the design of the hat.

New Top Hat , An Investor Disaster

The new Sorcerers Top Hat, I think will not make you any Robux. The hat has only sold 200 out of the 650 available in the first hour of being published. If you still wish to purchase the top hat, purchase it for looks, not for profit. The design is stunning and the hat can accommodate all of your Halloween looks. Driveblox Unlimited Review

Owning your own car is the dream of every teenager. In Driveblox Unlimited you can finally achieve this dream and own cars that you'll probably never get in your future.
Gameplay 6/10
The basic idea of the game is to buy a car, drive it around, buy another car. It gets very boring after awhile. You get points by driving a car or owning a house. When you buy a more expensive car you get more money from it. This goes on for quite awhile and gets very tiring after a while. There are a few racetracks that you can race in and the races can be very competitive but most people just drive around like crazy.
Effort 9/10
The map has a lot of detail to it. The racetrack is made very well and a lot of the buildings look like some effort and planning went into creating it. The central park looks like it was very well made.
Creativity 8/10
There are a lot of games that have cars where you drive around but I don't think many of them have done exactly what this person has done.
Overall 7.5/10
Suggestions

• Make more ways to get money
• Make driving your car interesting
• Make it so that a giant monster appears and you have to drive away from it 8D
• Make it so you can do quests for people to get money.

First type of group is a War Group, probably the most popular type of group on ROBLOX. These groups usually have bases that enemie War Groups can raid. Examples:
Shuranian Empire
FEAR (The biggest group on ROBLOX)

Then we have fan clubs, usually just for getting information on upcoming games/scripts/whatever the owner is coming up for. Examples:

Mister Obvious Fan Club


Then we have random groups. RANDOM. Examples:

And the last type that is popular is blogs/off-site stuff! Examples:

Roblox News Retexture Contest: Spooky Retextures!

Hello! Arb here, Roblox News is hosting a new Retexture contest. The contest will be judged by IBarrageI (Assistant Editor) and I. This contests' theme is Halloween; so get those brains of yours working and design some spooky textures! The contest will run to the 25th of October, so you have plenty of time to come up with your ideas and carefully create your textures. The contest prizes are to be detailed at a later point, but will most likely be Robux and a secret prize.

Capture the Castle Review

Everyone here finds castles interesting right? Well, they look cool at least right? Yeah, I thought so too. Anyway, this place is basically a fight to control two different castles. It's incredibly fun and rather new and creative.
Gameplay 8/10
The goal of the game is to capture all the spawns in all the castles. There are around 5 spawns in each castle. Once you capture a spawn your team can spawn there so it is very important that you do it. However, there isn't any kind of leaderboard or GUI or time limit. The game lasts forever.
Effort 7/10
This place was a struggle to decide. There are absolutely gorgeous terrains around the castle and the castle itself. But then there the large gaps of absolutely nothing inbetween the castles. The guard towers look absolutely great though.
Creativity 8/10
I'm fairly certain I haven't seen games like this. However there are a lot of control point capturing games that are much like this.
Overall 7.5/10
Suggestions

• Don't limit yourself to just capturing castles. Try making a script that switches game modes
• Make a definite goal in the game. Like capturing the most points or something.
• Add more weapons.
• Add a roaming unicorn that instakills everyone it touches.
• Add more detail between castles.
• Don't give up!

Opening of the first three gifts

Roblox has recently opened the first three halloween gifts. The first gift opened into VladTheImpaler , VI. The gift looks cool and was a complete surprise. The second roblox gift opened into the Bat Tie. Unfortunately when I tried coping the items image a roblox error occurred. The third gift opened into the Darkseed Pennant. I find this item to be the coolest of all three. Stay tuned to see when the next gift opens and remember you feedback is greatly appreciated.

Community Article: Become a Cyborg RANT

This game happens to be one of those games that appears on the front page from time to time. When you first start out, you are in this bland, boring room with a ton of machines. Then, you jump on this conveyor belt, and the machines start morphing you into a cyborg. Well, the creator did put some effort into the machines, but problem is that the whole morph process takes too long, and it's boring. Also the fact that some machines are pretty pointless, and do absolutely nothing. Once you are a cyborg, you'll be put into a room that looks like a really fake jungle. Now, compare yourself to the cyborg model used on the front page picture. The cyborg you morph into is just a grey robot with a really lame face. The cyborg on the picture of the game is a real cyborg with a good face. That's the end of the game. You're stuck in that jungle room forever. To make it worse, the morph wears off and turns back to normal close to a minute. So, let's get to the total points.

Gameplay: 3/10- There really isn't anything besides the morphs.
Effort: 4/10- It must have taken a long time to make the morphs, but still, that's it.
Creativity: 2/10- I've seen many games where all you do is morph into something else.
Overall: 3/10

Suggestions:
Turn it into a full game
Make better morphs
Have a better room where you can hang out, instead of this "jungle room".
Add some killer rhinos

Place Review: Lumber Inc 2

This game is very self explanatory, it's about Lumber, which is in fact wood. So, like always, lets talk about the picture. You see the name of this place in black text. You also see a bunch of trees, I'll explain about what you do to the trees later. This picture is pretty interesting and doesn't need anymore work on it. Time to begin the review.

First, lets talk about what I see when I enter. So, you spawn at the main area, the area where you have to bring lumber, buy trucks and other stuffs. If you don't know how to play there's a GUI on top saying "How To Play" click there. For people who know how to play, go to the truck shop. Also, it says there's no more VIP, so don't try looking for it. There's a floor button in the shop saying "Buy trucks here", step on it. There should be a GUI with the truck's name on it. Of course, it costs money, buy the cheapest one. It should say "Your new truck is in the garage, it also should say your name on it, which means nobody else can use it.

Now, to get to the lumber area, drive your truck across the bridge. You come up to two different roads, Site A and Site B, "does it matter what site?" No, they're the same thing. Time to collect some lumber, be careful when you leave your truck alone with lumber, people can steal your lumber. You'll probably notice that your truck starts jumping around and stuff, that's a glitch, just use the flip tool.

This is where it gets interesting, the lumber. Go to a tree and select your ax tool. Find a nice tree to cut, now start clicking. One click and it's cut, now move it to your truck by selecting your move tool. Move it to your truck and get in your truck before someone steals your lumber. Go to the main area again, and go to the sign where it says "Place lumber below", place your lumber there.

In a few moments, your lumber should come out in a package. Take your package to the storage building, to get there drive your truck under the tunnel and get there. Place your package on the conveyor belt and earn money. Now, you know how to play, now keep getting lumber and earning money!

Scripting: 6/10, needs more scripts, and needs to get the trucks fixed.
Tools: 10/10, with what they are needed for, they're good and are enough.
Building: 10/10, nice use of CFrame and the buildings and what not.
General Enjoyment: 9/10, one flaw, people who steal your lumber make this game a little bit difficult
Originality: 0/10, I've seen so many other wood/lumber places before.
Creativity: 8/10, some what creative because the person made up his own wood/lumber place and made it a little bit better than the rest.
Deals with Problems: 0/10, trucks go crazy and out of control and a bunch of people steal your lumber.
Deals with Lag: 10/10, no lag.

Overall: 8.9/10, this game is awesome and recommend playing it.

Arb's Hat Reviews: Darkseed: The Pendant

So. Now is the time of the month where the Halloween Gifts start to open, and the trick or treat within is revealed. 'The Pendant Gift' was one of the first gifts to open, inside, a lovely little gem: 'Darkseed: The Pendant'.

The 'Darkseed' hat in the catalog carries a sort of legacy; it is well known to be an absolute Halloween classic, available every year for a hefty price tag of 100,000 Tix - around 10,000 Robux. This item, has such an effect on the ROBLOX Economy that the trade currency rates change dramatically.

So, what makes this item cool?

The Mesh 9/10

Due to the nature of the original hat, and its presence within the ROBLOX community, anything with 'Darkseed' in its' title will be highly sort after. The aim of this hat was to obviously create a smaller version of the Darkseed with a new mesh and transform it into a suitable necklace; all I can say is that they succeeded. The mesh is detailed and similar shape to the original, it mimics it very well. The only thing that could possibly be improved is that the lines starting from the top and ending at the bottom, could have been more defined, further highlighting the area. However, this is a small mesh and so detail can only be produced up to a certain degree.

The Colours 8/10

The colours for the mesh are also fairly similar to the original. I gave it an eight purely because they are lighter than the Darkseed pumpkins' colours, this may be on purpose to give the hat more of a 'modern' or 'new' feel, there is nothing actually wrong with the colour scheme.

The Texture 10/10

The texture for 'Darkeed: The Pendant' is the probably the best part of the item, it fits the hat perfectly and looks really polished. If the texture designer was going for a more modern version of the original: they succeeded here too! Let's face it, if the texture was like the original, it probably wouldn't look right on a bit of string. It had to made more polished considering it was made 3 years later. Evoloution!

So, to conclude, a great mesh, with a fitting colour scheme and perfect texture, possibly the best gift item so far. What do you think? Post in the comments below!

This gift is a lot different to most others. This time. It doesn't resemble anything.
The only clue we have this time is the tag.

This gift has been causing quite a stir in the forums ever since it was leaked on 10/8/2011.


With this is another mystery: Along with it, leaked another hat.

Many people have denied the fact there may be a Halloween Dominus. Saying. "They were too conveniently leaked, and that it must be fake."

What may appear out of this is a complete mystery. But all we can say, is, it will be BIG.

Interview's with SinisterKingdom and Afroslice!

I interviewed 2 people from the LMaD forum, SinisterKingdom and Afroslice . Here's how it went:

SINISTERKINGDOM -

Q1: Where did you come up with your Username?

A1:I was messing around with words until I finally discovered the username that suited my personality the best, Sinister. I decided to add on Kingdom, mainly because Sinister was taken ages ago.

Q2: Are you trying to get all of the Halloween gifts? Why or why not?

A2: Halloween is my favorite event on Roblox, so why not buy all of these magnificent gifts? Since the first gift came out, I thought of obtaining them all.

Q3: Who are your best ROBLOX friends?

A3: Sam010100001 & ZxzroxasxZ have been true friends of mine since I can remember

Q4: How do you earn your money on Roblox?

A4: I have started to create abstract structures, such as "SinisterKingdom's Strateigic Horror Hunt" and make very liked peices of clothing, which is the best way I earn money!

Q5: Who is your favorite Admin/Moderator?

A5: I don't really have a favorite admin or moderator, I just like them all! They all do what makes the users happy!

AFROSLICE -

Q1: Whats your favorite thing to do around ROBLOX?

A1: My favorite thing to do around ROBLOX is to forum and invest, and I like to script every once in a while. Ask me if you need any help with your scripts. :D

Q2: What are some famous user's you have met in-game?

A2: Some famous users I have met in game are.. Well, I have met a lot of famous people, If I were to name them all the list would be crazy long. But I have met Telamon, of course :P. I have also been good friends with REDALERT2 for quite a while, around 16 months.

Q3: How did you come up with your username?

A3: My username was kinda copied off a noob on PSN named FroChop, so I got AfroSlice since it sounded catchy :3.

Q4: Did you like the Halloween Gift series idea? Why or why not?

A4: I absolutely love gifts, and these Halloween gifts are a lot of fun collecting, but I just don't understand why there is gifts in Halloween...?

Q5: If you could add one feature on ROBLOX, what would it be?

A5: If I could add one feature to ROBLOX, it would be group building. Like you could invite a bunch of friends into ROBLOX Studio so you could build and script together :D, other than that, I have wanted the trading system for quite a while..

Gift Number 12 is Released!

So the Halloween Gift series is slowly coming to an end... But, theres still one more gift that hasn't been released! And that's gift number 13! But, let's get back to gift number 12. First of all, this gift came out extremely late, a lot later than any of the other gifts did. This gift is called the "Surly Gift of Sorcus." Right off the bat, I know this gift is a Gear item. Sorcus is an Admin who works at Roblox to make gears, thats how i know. And this gift is the most expensive of them all so far costing 1.5k Robux. When I first saw the gift, I thought it was a scooter or skateboard, or something to ride on. But Im not sure. Heres a picture of it:

New Halloween Event?

So, recently ROBLOX has been spotted in the Halloween Event game from last year that they created. Except the place is not available to play for any user except ROBLOX. Which many people now are assuming that Roblox is making another Halloween Event game for 2011! Here are some screenshots I took of the site showing ROBLOX in the game:

Also, as I was writing this post, Telamon tweeted that he "Just had a meeting with Stickmasterluke, Sorcus, and Brighteyes abot our Halloween Event level..." Now, at the end of the tweet, he put 3 periods, which makes me wonder if their actually going to do an event. My guess is yes, but we'll just have to wait and see! :D

Gift Number 10 is out!

Gift number 10 of the Halloween Series is out! So, you all know how when a new gift comes out, I'll Google the description of it? I did with this one but nothing showed up. But I'm excepting something with a Witch/Wizard due to the Cauldron shaped mesh of it. Otherwise, I don't have any other clues or hints as to what it might be. So, we'll just have to wait and see! Boys Vs Girls Rant Review

Some of you guys probably remember my first RANT. I was reviewing a really bad front page game called Boys vs Girls. (The name has since changed.) I have recently been working very hard on my next Rant Video and so in honor of that first RANT I am reviewing another game a lot like it. So without further ado, let's get started.

Gameplay 2/10

This game, like its predecessor is a CTF game. However, it's pretty hard to play those when it doesn't record the captures and the flags don't really work. There is a shop system in the game but I've seen it a lot of times in the past. There's also a anti-teamkill script that doesn't work at all.

Effort 3/10

It's a lot better than the older one. This one has a few C-frames in it but not much. The map is very small and there's hardly any terrain.

Creativity 1/10

This kind of thing has been thought of by just about every 5 year old on the planet. Try coming up with something more unique.

Overall 3/10

Suggestions

• Add more terrain
• Add a giant unicorn that flies everywhere and shoots people with lazors.
• Fix team-killing
• Fix enemies getting into your base.

The 9th Gift is out!

The new gift's title is quite odd, its called "Gift of Blinkypinykinkyclyde." The box of the gift looks pretty awesome, but the description is odd too... So as always, I googled it. Here are some things that I put together:

• Theres a glitch when you play Pac-Man, where you get to level 256, theres a glitch called the "Split Screen" glitch where its almost impossible to beat. Heres what the glitch looks like: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f0/Split_Screen_in_Pac_Man.gif
• The gift is covered is ghosts, where in Pac-Man, the main objective is to stay away from the ghosts or else you die.
• Also, "Blinky" "Inky" "Pinky" and "Clyde" are all names of the Ghosts in Pac-man!

I think that this gift is a Trick, mostly because the description says you cant beat the 256th level, but Im not 100% sure yet. We'll just have to wait and find out!

8th Gift Released

The Gift of the Three Witches, is the 8th gift to be released.

The main aspects of this gift is, the rather obvious choice of wrapping paper; Witches heads.

Using my theory of which gift is a trick or a treat. I believe this gift is a treat.

The feeling I'm getting from this gift, is a witches/wizards hat may come out of it.

It's only 200 R$ so it is rather affordable.

A Clue on the First Gift

I've noticed that the first gift is shaped like a coffin, now this could mean, vampire, zombie, or a skeleton, or maybe a trick, but I have a clue that not many people have discovered, when you look at the catalog, you see the featured items. On this list, you clearly see Roblox updated the "Vampire" package to "Vampire 2010". Now this might not be true, but this is a big clue and a hunch, but maybe the thing hidden is a vampire 2011 package. Remember, this is only a hunch. Happy Halloween!

New scripting post!

Hello guys and gals! Welcome to a new scripting post! Follow these steps carefully on how to make a vip door!

1. Open up roblox build, and open roblox studio in the menu.

2.Go to your "object" and find "script".

3. Now open up your explorer with the "+" button.

4. Find "script" and double click it.

5. Copy and paste this script: local user = "Player" -- change this to the name of the person the personal door belongs to

local shirt = "ASSET ID HERE" -- change this to the shirt's asset ID  local door = script.Parent local doorTransparency = door.Transparency   function onTouched(hit)  local character = hit.Parent   if character:FindFirstChild("Humanoid") then   if character.Name:lower() == user:lower() or      character.Shirt.ShirtTemplate == shirt then    door.CanCollide = false    door.Transparency = 0.4     wait(4)  -- The length of time you want the door to be open for     door.CanCollide = true    door.Transparency = doorTransparency    else    character:BreakJoints() -- remove this line if you want a non-killing door   end  end end  door.Touched:connect(onTouched)

6.Now you must edit it, change the I.D. on the script to the shirt you want.

(7. For example the last numbers on the U.l.R., it has to be a t-shirt. You be careful)

8. Now you must drag the script in explorer and drag it to a the brick in explorer to what you want the script to work on.

9. Make the door and put decals or whatever you wish on it.

10. You must wear the shirt and walk through the door.

11. If you followed this correctly, test it out and it should work.

Gift number 7 is released!

Just moments ago ROBLOX released the 7th gift of the 13 days of Halloween, the name is "Preeesssennnt", and is priced at 310R$, but unfortunately is only exclusive to OBC Members. Now onto the bits you're interested in: Trick or Treat? I think this gift will be a treat, if you take a close look at the tag, it's a brain, and when you look into BrightEye's models inventory, you can see a retexture of a brain, so my guess is that this gift will open into that retexture, but who knows?

The Terrain Generator is here.

Today, Roblox went down for maintenance. So, I decided to look around for what the update was.

And soon after looking, I stumbled upon this.

The terrain generator.

Sure enough we were expecting it. But this feature will provide more horizons to building places, and making much bigger maps.

And of course, I tested it out. Here are some of the results I got.

In addition to just creating terrain. You can edit the terrain as well with the tools provided.

(The order of the tools from the left to the right.)

The tool next to the terrain generator is used to place a single terrain block.

The next tool is to delete a single terrain block.

The next tool is used to raise a clump of terrain blocks up to make a peak, or to to bring a peak down lower.

The next tool is used to add flat parts onto other parts. It can also be used to make a pathway up a plateau

The next tool is called the plateau tool. This took is used to create a flat surface on the terrain.

Then there is the crater tool. This (oddly enough) creates craters in the terrain.

The next tool is the orb tool. This creates a ball of terrain, which you can then edit.

Lastly is the Road tool. This can create roads on the terrain.

Though there are faults.

Firstly. There is a limit on how high a peak can go. Once you exceed that, the top goes flat.

Secondly. The tools can break from time to time.

And lastly. It's not that easy to bring down a peak once it's up.
