Halloween Gift Guessers: Mystical Gift of the Arbor

May the gifts of the season continue to grow.

Day 4 came with the first questionable gift - what it contains is honestly a mystery to me. Oh, and sorry about the late post today - the gift came out pretty early and I wasn't home at all today. Anyways, this is the Mystical Gift of the Arbor, and it's basically a tree stump with an axe in it and a bow on the side - it's 250 Robux, and I'm somewhat clueless as to what this gift contains.

Halloween Gift Guessers: Gift of the 9th Great Power

Perhaps the 9th time is the charm...

Day three is upon us, and this gift comes as no surprise to me. Every year we get a coffin gift, and a similar item is inside - but I'll get to that later. Anyways, this gift is the Gift of the 9th Great Power, and it is priced at 300 Robux.

Halloween Gift Guessers: Gift of Robloxians Past

What remains after everything else is gone?

Day two of BLOXtober is underway! Last night, the first gift, Batty Gift of Affordable Style, was released for 50 Robux. Tonight, we got the Gift of Robloxians Past - a very unique gift indeed. It's priced at 100 Robux, and has a very unique mesh that resembles a skull, possibly hinting at what's inside...

Halloween Gift Guessers: Batty Gift of Affordable Style

It's batty, it's affordable, it's stylish.

After a long year of waiting, It is BLOXtober once again! This year, we're once again getting the usual 13 days of gifts, and then an event. Anyways, today we got the very first gift: Batty Gift of Affordable Style. And of course, it's another bat-themed gift like last year.

Interview with DailyBasis

Christmas interview with DailyBasis!

Greetings to all ROBLOXians, here is a Christmas Interview from Prolixen, my first interview for Roblox News! In a server of Starbucks I managed to interview DailyBasis the millionaire Robloxian!

1) How many gifts did you obtain this year, and of them all how many were bought and how many were achieved?
I got 5, 3 were bought and 2 were achieved.

2) Did you get more gifts this year than in the Giftsplosion of 2012?
No, I got 9 in the 2012 Giftsplosion.

3) What is your opinion on the gifts this year, were they too pricey or of a bad quality? Why?
They were too pricey and bad quality. For starters, I bought a 10k gift to be awarded with a poor retexture of a 1k hat. Mainly though, I just disliked most of them.

4) Which was your favourite gift, and which was your least favourite?
Eh....Probably the gift that gave the golden shades, they match my necklace and fedora. The least favourite, hmm....The Merrywrath Gift, it is ugly and was too pricey.

5) What Christmas items from previous years would you like to see back on-sale this year?
Both the items I would like to see back on-sale were from 2010, the Igloo of Solitude (TBC) and the Snowball Machine Gun (OBC). Although, if they went back on-sale I would want them to be selling for everyone not just TBC/OBC, although they would stay at their original prices.

6) In your opinion, were the gifts this year easier to get or harder to get and why?
Harder. Hard achievement with little hints and very expensive.

7) What's your favourite part of Christmas?
Hmm, getting the decorations set up.

8) If next year you could decide how people obtain a gift, what would you do?
An idea for a gift? Uh...Perhaps a gift that a bunch of Knockouts or Wipeouts was needed, say 100,000 Knockouts.

9) Do you think, that overall, the gift requirements were fair this year?
They were fair, but hard. Poor hints.

10) What gift box design is your favourite this year?
DevEx Gift. I like black gifts, makes it look mysterious.

Thanks for reading Robloxians!

Interview with EmeraldRooster!

EmeraldRooster
Season's greetings ROBLOXians! Today I bring you the second gift interview of the holidays. I managed to catch up with ROBLOX forumer EmeraldRooster who was more than willing to answer a few questions!

1) How many gifts did you obtain this year? Are you pleased with this figure?
I obtained 8 gifts. I am pleased since in previous years it was harder for people to obtain gifts.

2) Of these gifts, how many did you earn and how many did you purchase?
I earned 7 and purchased 1.

3) What is your view on the gift prices this year?
I thought most of the gifts were reasonably priced.

4) Of the gift items released this year, which is your favourite? Why?
My favorite is probably the sparkle coal. I am a gear collector myself and most of the items that come out of gifts are hats and not gear.

Interview with jojods1125!

jojods1125Today I bring you the first in a series of user interviews which will focus on the views of the community towards the 2013 ROBLOX gifts! In this interview we talk to jojods1125, an experienced gift collector who has spanned three giftsplosions.

1) How many gifts did you obtain this year? How did this compare to 2012's Giftsplosion?
I obtained 11/13 gifts this year. The ones that I missed were the sound gift and DevEx gift. Last year I got all of the gifts excluding the "Big One", so I would say it's about the same.

2) How many of these gifts did you earn and how many did you purchase?
Of the eleven gifts I got, I only bought the Approval gift. All of the rest I earned.

3) What is your opinion on the gift prizes this year?
The prizes this year are pretty cool. I like how some of them (so far) aren't technically Christmas-related, so I'm able to wear them all year round.

4) Out of all the gift items released so far, what is your favourite? Why?
Musica Infernus Dominator Out of the ones I earned, I would have to say it's a tie between The Wisest Wizard and the Stylish ROBLOX Scarf. The Wisest Wizard is basically a Gandalf hat, and I love any hats that are based on books. I like the StylishScarf because it's good for more than Christmas. The gray color goes with many winter clothes, and I'm a sucker for anything with the ROBLOX R on it. For the ones that I didn't earn, it would have to be the Musica Infenus Dominator. I'm really glad that ROBLOX continued the Dominus Headphones series, and MID looks a lot better compared to Musica Dominator.

5) Which gift item do you think was most worth its price tag?
As I said before, I'm overjoyed that ROBLOX made another Dominus Headphones. I always assumed that if they were to make another one, it would be worth at least 10k, and it would definitely not come out of a gift. Considering the fact that it was only 5k robux, or 1,250 if you earned it, it was totally worth the price.

6) What was your favourite gift to earn this year? Why?
Opened Achievements of the Populace
I would have to say either the Achievements of the Populace. The badges weren't too hard to earn, yet some weren't too easy. It was an almost perfect mix of difficulty, and the prize inside was worth it.

7) Which is gift box design is your favourite? Why?
The Eventful Gift, by far. I love the mix of the different shades of blue and the various Christmas symbols on it.

8) In your opinion, were the Giftsplosion achievements this year fair? Why?
Well, it depends on your definition of "fair." If you believe people who earned the robux needed to get the DevEx gift deserved something, or if you think people who spent multiple hours in TWH deserve another prize, then it's fair. But if you think people, no matter the join date, deserve a shot at the gifts, then no, it's not fair. As for me, I believe that if you put in the hard work to get the robux or badges needed to get those gifts, then you deserve something for it.

9) If you were to devise a gift achievement for next year's giftsplosion, what would it be?
Usually, the gifts are based on features that were added in the previous year, and since Universes are coming out soon, maybe for making a Universe? It would be a simple gift to earn, and anyone who actively builds should earn it. Yeah, I think that'd be a good gift achievement.

10) If you were to design a gift box texture for next year's giftsplosion, what would it look like? Just for the sake of staying constant, I'll think of a texture for a Universe Gift box. Maybe something futuristic, like along the lines of the iEgg? I think that would be a nice gift for any sci-fi fans on ROBLOX.

Christmas Gifts: Overview

Yes, it's that time once again to go over all of the gifts and what actually came out of them, this time for Christmas! For those that actually do remember I did one for the Halloween gifts this year, and shall be doing it for the Christmas gifts since they're both.. gifts. Anyway, let's start!

Well Outfitted Gift of Style                                                                 Stylish ROBLOX Scarf

Being the first gift people were expecting something pretty "meh" but this scarf is good, could be better though since it's a bit.. flat compared to the others.

Gift of Passage                                                                           The Wisest Wizard

Fun fact, the hat that came out of this gift was leaked for quite a while. But back on topic, it's pretty good for how easy and cheap the gift was.

Gift of The Little Seed                                                                       Holiday Branchlers

A pretty common gift as far as I know, considering how many people actually bought the seed. This is a nice payoff I think, even if they aren't exactly "antlers" like many have wanted.

Admit One Gift                                                                                   Gold Flash Shades

Welp, I must admit I'm slightly jealous for those that got this gift. For only 1,500 a re-texture of the green flash shades is quite... surprising.

Eventful Gift                                                                                 Eventful ROBLOX Top Hat

The prize for this gift was actually leaked some time before the gift actually opened, but the texture was a little lighter, as far as I know. Good enough for what is a BLOXcon related gift.

Achievements of the Populace                                                                     Snowbot

I'm honestly indifferent to this, a lot of people seem to like it, but it's not my thing. Oh well, to each their own. Still a good prize for those who earned it.

Festive Gift of Impossibility                                                                     Merrywrath

For 10k this one seemed a little steep, even if I like what they did for the idea behind this hat. Either way, it's pretty creative even if the texture isn't the greatest in some places. Good for those who got it for free.

Gift of Approval                                                                                     Festive Swordpack

A nice, cheap item, for a nice, cheap gift. This is fairly nice looking for a re-invented mesh and I think it'll go nicely with those who like to use sword packs.

Sound as a Bell Gift                                                                 Musica Infernus Dominator

I can't be the only one who was a little mad when this came out, right? Anyway, I like it. It's a worthy successor to the first of what is probably a new series of hats. (even if the 5 sounds requirement was a bit dumb..)

Double Double Gift of Trouble                                                       Gingerbread Headrow

Double gift, double item. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a bit sick of headrows being reused quite often now but all things aside it's one of the better looking headrows.

Bewitching Gift of Santa                                                            BLOXikin #32 Santa Claus

Okay, okay, they did a good job on the detail and all but charging 3.1k to the people who bought the gift was a bit much for another BLOXikin. I'm not sure honestly.

Muneris Aureus Dev Ex                                                                           Dominus Aureus

Ah, yes. Hopefully what is the final, final entry into the "Dominus" series of hats. Either way, good on those that got it for free and are satisfied with their purchase. The texture and mesh could use some work, though.

The Unluckiest Gift                                                                               Sparkle Time Coal

Released at an hour when most people were at school, this is probably the most "unfair" gift, or unluckiest if you want to go with the theme. What it contained though, is essentially a reskinned,
sparkling war rock that is better than the original. Not bad, I think.

Well, that about wraps this up. Maybe they'll learn from their mistakes this year to make the next one even better, good on you ROBLOX.

And as always, Happy Holidays.

Hat Review: The Wisest Wizard

Hello, pbjms here. After my long spree of Gift Guessers, Arbirator brutally forced me to write an actual hat review. So, I'm here to review one of my favorite gift prizes so far this year. It is the prize that tought me a very important lesson: When to pass. And that prize is, Gandal- er, The Wisest Wizard.

Oops, wrong picture, sorry.
The Wisest Wizard
There we go.
Okay. Time to recap.

During this year's Giftsplosion, a gift called the Gift of Passage was created. Many users thought it involved buying paid access to a place, others thought it was for buying a gamepass. Turns out, it was for buying a gamepass. So, if you didn't own a gamepass (thus you didn't earn the gift), you were stuck buying it for 100 Robux. It sold for a few days, eventually selling a total of 678 copies. If you think that's really rare, then you don't know just how many people own a gamepass. I'd say well over 200,000 people, seeing as how my alt, pbjms218, got the gift and didn't even own a gamepass at the time. Time-traveling to the future, this gift is opened on December 10th. Inside of it was The Wisest Wizard.
9/10

Okay, moving on to the review.

Price: So, this hat was originally 100 Robux, but had many free copies given out. By the look of it, it was definitely worth it if you bought it, and if you got it for free, then you got an extra treat along with whatever gamepass got you this gift.
10/10.

Appearance: This hat is the casual wizard hat that you can get from many, many other items. It comes with a bonus though. A nice, long, flowing beard that looks like it's made from cardboard. It's like, completely flat. Although it does make a nice Santa beard, the beard really doesn't really improve the look of this hat, as the wizard hat is actually really nice.
8/10

Overall: 9/10

Christmas Gift Guessers: Muneris Aureus Dev Ex - What are you?

OKAY SO, the big gift this year, like Brighteyes said, is some huge thing for builders and rich people. You had to use Dev Ex to get it. Jeez, a recent update. Who could have seen that coming? Okay so this gift was awarded like, seconds after it was made, then started selling for 50,000 Robux. That's a lot. So, all of you people with enough money are probably wondering "What are ya, Mr. Latin Gift?"

Okay. The name is in latin, hm, what other hats are in latin that are worth a lot? Okay, so, the gift translates into "Golden Services" Okay. Aparently Dev Ex is latin.. That's new.

Okay, so, the gift is in latin, and it involves gold stuff. HMMM, if I do a little research by looking up "Aureus," latin for gold, into the ROBLOX catalog page, I get a nice result.

Okay, doing a bit more research, I noticed that the creator of the Golden Dominus, Encladeus, somehow has the gift. He has 2,000 place visits, so unless he's a major robux buyer, he was given the gift for free... Hmmm... why was that? OH RIGHT, if somebody gets their retexture published, they either get it for free, or if it's limited, some robux. So, my theory is that Encladeus created a Golden Dominus, and is getting it published because he got the gift for free. Even if Encladeus bought it, all the clues still add up to a Golden Dominus of some-sort.

If you STILL don't believe it's a dominus, I have EVEN MORE PROOF, this time, proof from the great John Shedletsky. Consumer of chicken, nuker of whales. So, Freaked sent Shedletsky a tweet on twitter saying, "> @Shedletsky posts a Latin phrase as his ROBLOX status. > OMG NEW DOMINUS!!11" And then, Shedletsky replied saying.. "Dominus Aureus." HMMM, Dominus Aureus? Isn't that latin for Lord of Gold? Wait a minute, the gift also says Aureus in it.. and the dominus retexture is gold! It all adds up!

Okay. So, if you want a chance at a golden dominus, buy the gift for the robux.

Christmas Gift Guessers: Bewitching Gift of Santa

Okay. So, I'm here. You all missed me, I know, but I'm back for my finale Gift Guesser this year. You're stuck with nitro, ray, Arb, or somebody else for the next one (sorry). Anyways, today's gift was the second to last one, and if you ask me, It's probably the most obvious one. I honestly think this is the gift that gives the admins, their new nickname of "Fun-Hating Grinches," because, well, the whole GIFT is pretty much completely spoiled in the description.
WHHHHY?

Okay, the name doesn't spoil anything, but it is spoiled in the description
Heh, notice the corner with the three different monsters merging into each other?

Okay, it's theory time! Wait, wha-? The gift is completely spoiled in the description?
OR IS IT?
Nah, it probably is, but knowing ROBLOX, things aren't always as they seem.

Pb's Theory #1: Fully Complete the Witching Hour

As like, 80% of this post has been about, this gift is practically fully spoiled in the description. "The town is indebted to you, Great Bloxxer. Bloxhilda will never bother us again! Or will she ..." Okay, COME ON. If you don't understand how you get this gift just from that, you're either not very smart, or you just weren't here for the Witching Hour. And if you weren't, all you missed was a mash of a 20,000 x 20,000 studs map with tons of unique structures like houses, houses, rectangular mountains, swamps, houses, rivers, and houses.
Oh yeah, did I mention there were houses?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So you just ran around completing quests for admins spread too far apart that it took like 20 minutes to get to each one. You completed completely random and obnoxious quests like retrieving a bunch of marbles for Frankenstein to get dolls of glory called BLOXikins that somehow harnessed the power to defeat a giant evil witch that needs to go on a diet.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyways, back to the gift. If you have two eyes and know how to read, you'd see that the description is about you brutally murdering Bloxhilda. So, to get the gift, you just had to kill Bloxhilda and beat the Witching Hour. I'm guessing ROBLOX ran out of ideas for gifts when they made this, seeing as how we already got 31 BLOXikins, OBTH, and tons of other prizes for our 20,000 x 20,000 stud adventure. Oh well. More for me.

Pb's Theory #2: Own the BLOXikins for Brighteyes, Shedletsky, Ostrichsized, and Fusroblox

Gift of the Prime Nexus' Texture
Okay, so, when I suddenly found this gift using totally reliable sources and nothing unlegit, there was no description, so I thought using the texture as a reference, "hmmm... vampires, mummies, and frankensteins on the texture.." Soo, using my amazing memory skills of a giant event that happened like a month ago, I remembered that in the event, each admin had a random costume. Brighteyes and Shedletsky were vampires, Ostrichsized was a mummy, and Fusroblox was Frankenstein.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This secondary theory is highly unlikely, and, I mean, if you completed what I said in Theory #1, you completed this too. This is really just to make the people that gave up on the giant event feel good about abandoning something that results in an outrageous amount of prizes.
And hey, who said hints can't be in the texture?

Darkgenex's Theory:

"The gift will require you to find all of the 2013 eggs."
Not sure why I put this here, but hey, It's my last post, why not spice it up a bit?

Thanks for Reading!
And no, I'm not quitting RN, this is my last Giftguessers post, and I had a lot of fun with them.

Christmas Gift Guesses: Double Double Gift of Trouble

Greetings to all you gift collectors out there! Today we will be taking a look at the tenth gift of this Christmas season and what the likely requirement is to earn the box. This gift is fairly simple, with both title and description hinting towards how to obtain it for free (well, not really for free).

Double Double Gift of Trouble
Double Double Gift of Trouble

Gift Theory One - Own two copies of the same limited item

As promised, I'm providing the credit of this theory to Nitro357 who drafted his theory onto a secret blog post. If I were being impartial, I would credit half of the ROBLOX community, as a lot of players have caught on to the likely achievement they need in order to get this gift box. The theory is as follows: simply own/buy 2 or more copies of the same limited item. This is implied by the description 'It was so nice I bought it twice!'. I would suggest investing in items such as the Riptide Gear or the POW! To the Moon! Egg as they are what I would call 'dirt cheap', and readily available in terms of supply. Up until Monday this week, more Riptides were being generated by players returning to the Percy Jackson edition of Sword Fights on the Heights - this was reflected in the incredibly low prices I spotted at one point of being R$40.

Gift Theory Two - Rent a piece of gear twice (unlikely)

As stated above, this gift is rather unlikely due to the practicality of this task; it's great for people who have rented a gear in the past twice - but for users who haven't they have to do this within 3 days or less. This means renting the gear - deleting it, then renting again to accomplish the '2 rental' theorised achievement. If you were to perform this task, I would suggest renting out the Silver Ninja Star of the Brilliant Light twice. Only perform this theory if  you literally have bucket-loads of cash to spare, because it is extremely unlikely - new feature gifts 'n' all.

Christmas Gift Guessers: Sound as a Bell Gift

                                    Sound as a Bell Gift
Here we are, the 9th of the 12 promised gifts for BLOXmas, or something like that. Anyway, decoration for this gift isn't too much special, red with some bells on the side, and a green bow which kind of tells us what has to be done to get this. But as always, the theory;

- My Theory

Users have been speculating for a while there would be a sound-related gift, since there's been one for paid access, game passes, and outfits already. So, what do you have to do to get this I think? Well, it's in the title so it's sort of obvious enough. But I digress, my main guess is you have to upload a sound, or multiple sounds. But it's likely only one.

- Arb's Theory

Have a certain number of users take your uploaded sound - probably 10. This would be a little similar to the Supermodeler Gift of 2011. This is unlikely because most feature gifts nowawadys rarely require to sell anything more than 1 copy of the asset.

- RayMan32's Theories:

Theory I: Make a Roblox Audio Clip
This is highly likely. A new feature that hasn't been marketed yet? This is definitely the one. I'm saying to make any sort of audio, but to be on the safe side, name it bell.

Theory 2: Beat a dead horse with a Roblox Audio.
Sorry. I had to put this in there. I know pbjms and I are a little annoyed with the feature gifts. The badge one was really fun.
sorta had to put this in here.
Anything else I should add? Maybe next there will be a price floor gift.

Christmas Gift Guessers: Gift of Approval

Hello readers, RayMan36 here with my thumbs permanently fixed in the upright position. I'm sure you know what I'm going to talk about: The new Gift of Approval. Let's begin!
Seems legit enough to me, anyway.
I've got a couple theories on this myself.
I. Get a Place with at least a 50% like rate.
There's been hints to this in quite a few places. First of all, Roblox likes to give us "site feature" type gifts, such as the outfit, game pass, or paid access gifts. The thumbs up feature came out this year, and there's never been to way to force everybody to use it yet. Also, I was told there was a hint to it in the BloxCast. Apparently, Justus hinted today's gift by giving a thumbs-up, which might have gotten him arrested if he did it in a public park to a roblox user. Thank gosh it was only on a website designed only for kids. Anyway, I'm guessing to have at least a rate of 50% likes.
Justus, how's this post?

II. Get your email verified (Extremely Unlikely)
I really don't think this is likely, but the only reason I put it in here is because of the desc, "Seems legit". This is mainly unlikely because there was a gift like it a while ago. The gift not only opened, but went limited. Unlikely.

That's my time, if Arbirator's got anything, hopefully the Russians don't steal it!
Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici.
-RayMan36

UPDATE: the Russians stole it.
