Labor Day Retextures: The Verdict

Wait, don't I do game reviews? Well yes, but due to a lack of time to make articles I shall be putting more variety into my posts, rather than just things about games. And why not start off with the lovely upcoming Labor Day Weekend Sale's rextextures which are a bit... er.



 Snow Leopard Fedora by Voxhall

Another fedora, why am I not surprised. It's totally a retexture too, just compare both of these images and see that the band is pretty much unchanged, the tan turned to white, and the brown spots in the middle gone! So it's basically the actual Leopard fedora in the light, hooray..



 Black Iron Bucket by godsend


I like the texture on this one, but I have no doubt it will be hella expensive since ROBLOX seems to really like that kind of thing lately, great. But it's good to see another "rare" item drop dead thanks to a better retexture.

Retexture Reviews: Two Winning Eggs

Today I'd like to talk about two amazing eggs that won the egg contests for the 2013 Egg hunt. Every year, Roblox makes a egg hunt to celebrate Easter. Each egg is either common or rare, or just plain hard to get. This year, Roblox asked their community to make eggs for the 2013 Egg Hunt. They decided to pick three Faberge eggs and three standard eggs. Today I'll be talking about one egg from both Faberge and standard eggs.

The first eggs is the Fruity Egg of the Watermelon. This egg was made by the user TheEasterZombie. His egg is pure genius, and absolute creativity. The way the texture fits with the egg is remarkable. The egg shows some dimension with one side being bright, and the other dark, The egg is clearly a nice addition to the 2013 Egg Hunt, and I can't wait to get. Maybe you'll need a sword to get it, who knows! Overall, this egg is what creativity stands for, and it is original.

Overall: 9/10

The second egg I'd like to talk about is the Purple Faberge Egg of Royalty. This egg was made by the user nintendocpu. This is egg is a normal Faberge egg, however it has a new grid design. Instead of the average Faberge egg's gold grid, this one is a gold and green grid on a purple dye. All though this isn't an original Faberge egg, it's still a good looking egg. It deserves it spot in the top three of Faberge eggs.

Retexture Reviews- The Fan Helmet

Set with no description, one can only infer what the item is. From first glance at the name, you'd think it would be either a fan that is made into a helmet, or rather a helmet made for a fan group. The retexture I'm reviewing today is the Fan Helmet, made by gkku.

The helmet's writing is in Japanese. Of course, I can't speak Japanese, or understand Japanese. All I did was researched Japanese writing to compare the writing. Can't blame a guy for not knowing what they mean. Now lets move onto the retexture, and not the writing.

The retexture is simple, a helmet with a fan. It's simple enough to get the idea of the hat. I simply only found two cons in this design:
-The lack of folded paper like design to get the fan design more accurate. Now I know the fan part is flat, but it is best to improvise in the design, rather than lacking out on the most import part of the hat.(Maybe could've fixed the position of the Japanese writing too.)

-The little spikes sticking out, could've been improvised as well. Gkku could've made the spikes to have something involved with Japanese culture.

These two flaws could been improved, and I'd like to see them improved as well. Gkku doesn't have to because he is entitled to his design's layout.

Moving onto the helmet. To my perspective, the helmet looks to be copper, or rather bronze with rustic look. The rustic looks makes it look old, and potentially an ancient artifact, or just a hat if you don't like technical terms. This hat is simply creative and original, and like all hats, it has it's flaws, but it has it's pros as well. I recommend this hat for production, but I just don't have the right to do that since I don't work for Roblox. This deserves 8/10 rating for it's pure genius idea.

Retexture Reviews: Galactic Marshal

Where should I start? The truth is, I don't know. I honestly don't. I like the concept, the idea, and the artwork put into it. The only problem is, the mesh doesn't fit it. I say this because if you look closer, the texture doesn't fit the dimension of the mesh. It has flat spots, which should be pulled out, and attached to the mesh. The Galactic Marshal Is an amazing idea, made by the user Blobmista4. This hat idea deserves a better mesh. The texture is amazing, the detail that goes down to the very last glare on the visor is too great for this mesh. The mesh is too simple for the details on the texture. The hat itself is worthy of a Roblox hat. It needs a better mesh, but hey, you're not like SharpTH.

The concept of the hat from what I can tell, is a space-military soldier. You can think of it from an alien perspective, or from a human perspective. Either it's meant for the good, or the bad. If it were a hat on ROBLOX, I would see a package to fit it. It's rather different, and unique when it comes to a retexture. It shows skills that most people might not have, and it states the ability to be creative, and to think outside box. Whether you're fighting for the world, or fighting for the universe, you'd most likely would need a helmet. A helmet that can guide you to the adventures of a soldier. For the few that would put their lives on the line, and the few who survive to tell the tales.

Retexture Review: Chrome Ambassador!

You may be looking at this review and you may be thinking: what is alexkylerock doing? Well, just recently, I got permission from arbirator and he let me review retextures. Now, I'm not just going to review random retextures that kids post on the forums. I will review worth retextures. I will review retextures that the admins think are worthy. I am reviewing the retextures that BrightEyes and Tarabyte take and have not been published. I will tell you why they are great retextures and why they may have been rejected from publishing. Arbirator made it clear that I shouldn't do this frequently, and that I should focus on normal reviews, so if you do like these reviews, please post a comment saying "Arbirator! Let him make more of these!" or "I loved this! Please post more!". But if you don't like these please be honest and post a comment saying "I didn't really enjoy this post, maybe you shouldn't do this anymore." or "This was absolutely horrible. I. Will. Never. Read. Another. Of. Your. Posts." If you post the second one, a little piece of me will die. Haha just kidding. I just want your honest opinion. But let me get to today's review! The Chrome Ambassador!

Now you know what I personally love about retextures? They're absolutely free. You can take one and put it in your game, and wear them in game. Obviously, I won't really be mentioning the mesh in these reviews, but I mention how the mesh compliments the texture or vise versa. I also won't be mentioning value at all. I will, though, still mention outfits, and suggestions.

Texture: 10/10

This texture may look very easy to make, but coming from a real retexturers experience, this texture is a very, very complex retexture. I'm wondering how GeckoGuy456 pulled this off. See how right below the eye, it dips down? That shows great depth and many retexturers don't show depth in their retextures. This retexture shows great depth. See how the light shies right across the cheek up to the top of the head? That shows depth too. It is amazing how he pulled this off. The colors compliment each other extremely well. I honestly love the color of the eye. I would've never thought that the color purple would compliment the skin color, and for some reason, it does. It just does. If you look at the top picture, the texture wraps around the mesh perfectly. If you look at the nose and mouth, it almost looks realistic (if aliens were real). The ONLY reason I thought that this retexture didn't get published is that someone in the ROBLOX HQ probably didn't think that this mesh wouldn't sell well (like if they made it limited, it wouldn't sell). This mesh isn't popular. The texture is perfect though. It deserves a perfect 10/10.

Outfits: 5/10

Now obviously, since it's not published, I can't just go to catalog heaven and search "Chrome Ambassador" and put it on. I put this in my place and took off my hats and put this on. Now, like I said before, this mesh isn't that well known. It doesn't look that appealing either. The texture is amazing, I give it that, but I doubt many people would buy this. I wouldn't, not because of the texture, but because of the way it looks on me. Honestly, I don't think this hat would really go with anything either. What really makes me kinda wanna throw up is the nose placement. It looks like a clowns nose. The head is also really big and pointy, looks like a pinhead. I don't really like this mesh and I don't think it really looks nice. But, because he couldn't do anything about this, I can't deduct too much from it.

Suggestions:

I honestly can't suggest anything to him. This texture is absolutely flawless. If he wanted to get his retextures published, though, he should probably choose a more "appealing" mesh to retexture. Other than that, I can't really suggest anymore.
