Place Review: Make a Cake And Feed the Giant Noob

Ok so today, I'm going to review 'Make a Cake and Feed the Giant Noob' by thebenster, which is a game that I recently found and it recently got a million plays. You may think that this sounds boring but wait; read this review first before you make any opinions about the game.

Without further ado, let's begin.

A Rant on the Lack of Innovation on ROBLOX

Over the course of four years on ROBLOX, I've had the chance to work with a lot of people and a lot of groups, helping develop their products. Users like Crazyman32, YrrebRBLX, Mrsmith23, DrReli, and more: all prestigious and renowned for their contributions to the ROBLOX community.

But when you start to work at groups that are obviously ahead of their time: creating what people would dream of in the now, you start to realize that outside the walls of the gated community that original group owners build, there are other groups that try desperately to achieve the same thing.

Adventure Forward: Star Savior, a game by Explode1

Explode1, mostly known for his popular roleplay/adventure hybrid Paper Roblox 2: Beyond the Fold and challenging obstacle course Super Bowser Minions has come back with a game that is in a way a hybrid, Adventure Forward: Star Savior. Without further introduction, let's get on with the reason you came here.

Ray's Lesson on Neckbeards and how to properly tip le fedora

Why, hello M'lady! You are looking resplendent today, more beautiful than MLP! We'll be taking an in-depth look at recent fedora meshes, and comparing them with others, as a nice, colorful change of pace.

St. Patrick's Day Recap!

Hello, RayMan36 here with the most confusing sale ever. I'm talking about the Saint Patrick's Day Weekend hats and sales.

Roblox News Egg Hunt 2014: Retexturing Contest!

As many of you know, we are in the process of developing our annual Easter Egg Hunt which will span a number of maps and dozens of different eggs. As with every year, we are looking to outdo ourselves both in terms of scale, but also quality of the user experiences. However, while we are toiling away scripting eggs and building universes, we have little time to create the egg designs themselves!

This is where you come in! For our hunt we require a multitude of different egg designs to spruce things up and make sure that each egg feels and looks unique when compared to the next. We are looking for user submitted retextures to add to our count - with the best ones being selected to feature in our game with full credit given! We want you to be creative with your designs and produce work that is unlike any other eggs we have seen on ROBLOX. Simplicity is often the best course of action, so don't think that your retexture has to be complicated and detailed if the design/theme doesn't really warrant it. This set may provide some inspiration: 2014 Eggs.

How to enter:
Crimson Leaf Floral Egg
Rules:
1. Any egg hat can be retextured - this means you can use the meshes from the 2013, 2012, 2010 and 2008 egg hunts. Do be aware that the basic egg mesh is the easiest to retexture and can often lead to the best results. There are a number of basic egg meshes from numerous years, I suggest you use this one as it is the simplest to retexture, and makes it easy to spot the oval area where the texture goes. Here is quick list of more eggsravagant ones you may want to retexture:
2. Recolours are permitted, but unless you have performed something really clever, they are unlikely to be chosen to feature in our hunt

3. You can send as many entries as you want - please try to keep them within one private message (it makes the collection process a lot easier). If you have a large amount of entries, it would be advisable to send  them as a set.

The requirements to enter this retexturing contest are simple:

HAL 9000 Egg *arbirator & CloneTrooper1019 took!*1. Upload your creation as a ROBLOX model with 'egg' somewhere in the title. In the description, please insert the tag 'RN Egg Hunt 2014'. Make sure the model is freely available - this is important.

2. Copy the URL (link) of the model and private message it to Arbirator. I will be creating a set in order to store all of the egg entries

The winners will be announced  on April 6th 2014, so you have just under two weeks to complete your entries and send them in. Good luck to all contestants! I hope to see some fantastic designs!

Double Hat Review: Luckysphere & Fancy Saint Patricks Fedora

Hey guys! I’m back! Darkfish900 back here again with another double hat review. Today I will be reviewing luckysphere and Fancy St.Patrick's Fedora, I hope you enjoy! First up: Luckysphere!
Luckysphere
Mesh/Texture: 8/10

This retexture by DarkGenex is a retexture of HIS OWN Bathysphere retexture. His original retexture was a bluesteel bathysphere but this hat is Luckysphere, a green version of bathysphere for St. Patrick’s Day. The mesh is just like the other bathysphere, pretty plain but pretty cool looking. The texture is also pretty plain, just a green version of bathysphere but still looks very nice. Overall a 7/10.

Price: 9/10

This item was on sale for 100 robux but only for one day. For that type of item, 100 robux is a pretty good deal but it doesn't have a very low stock! It has a stock of 2111. If it ever goes limited it won’t profit very much like bluesteel bathysphere. The original Bluesteel Bathysphere sold for 50 robux with 10000 Sold! If this item was limited with a somewhat low stock of 1000 for example I would give it a 9/10 but I now give it 9/10.

Overall: 9/10

This hat is given a 9/10 and could have been a 10/10 if had a better price rating and the item itself was a lot more an a lot more original hat. Next up: Fancy St. Patrick's Fedora
Fancy St. Patrick's Fedora

Mesh/Texture: 10/10

This retexture by Sporeman15 is absolutely incredible! It looks perfect and super appealing on the avatar. The mesh is perfect and original, it also looks amazing on the roblox avatar and fits perfectly with headphones and sun glasses. The texture also looks amazing! Its green with gold band, buttons and a feather, it looks perfect! Overall I give it a 10/10.

Price:  10/10
This item was on sale for 1000 robux. It only sold 160 copies and went limited the next day! Once limited it started selling for about 10,000 robux. A week later lowered down to about 2000-4000 robux which is still making profit from the original buy! This hat is also is definitely worth the price! Overall 10/10!!

Overall: 11/10

This hat overall is probably the best hat released during St. Patrick’s day weekend but all of the hats were very nice! I hope you enjoyed this double hat review, Cya next time!

The 2014 Roblox News Egg Hunt

Hello all,
Some of you may know me, some of you may not. I am Josh (TechTeam911 on Roblox, previously zinc707), and I am the lead project designer + programmer + web developer for Arbirator's Roblox News. In my free time (When I'm not running my business & working in college), I love to create games on Roblox. I've been programming with Lua for over 6+ years now, and it's one of my favorite languages.

As many of you know, here at Arbirator's Roblox News, we always host a yearly Easter Egg Hunt event for the community to enjoy. Last year was the best egg hunt we've ever had (Over 30K visits, and tons of positive feedback), but of course, we always have to do better every year. That being said, on behalf of Arbirator's Roblox News, I am proud to introduce the Roblox News 2014 Egg Hunt.

This year is going to be one of the most sophisticated (And enjoyable) egg hunts that Arbirator's Roblox News has created.

Summary:
  • Numerous universes where eggs rain down simultaneously (Universes are all connected to a central hub, pictured above).
  • Central hub is used to teleport to other universes - hub is also used for socializing, purchasing items, viewing the leaderboards, and more.
  • Universes are created by both Arbirator's Roblox News staff and the community (Will get into details later on about that.)
  • Very few eggs are going to be recycled from last year to be reused this year, the majority of the content is going to be completely new and innovative.
  • The egg hunt will be much more challenging than last year's egg hunt. That being said, certain universes will exclusively drop easy-to-get eggs for the people who are having difficulty with some of the other universes.)
  • Each universe has exclusive eggs (Ie: Magma egg only drops in volcanic map, beach ball egg in beach map etc.)
  • In place of game-passes, there will be currency packages.
    • No, we're not going Candy-Crush on you guys, the currency purchases are completely optional.
    • The two types of currency are as follows:
      • Cash
      • Gold
    • Cash can be earned in-game through unlocking eggs.
    • Gold can be earned only through currency purchases.
      • Gold is completely optional, it's used to purchase certain assets that are locked for normal users.
    • Buying in bulk gives bonus currency (Ie: 25% more cash if you buy y package vs. x package).
  • Egg hunt should (Hopefully) be iOS compatible.
    • That being said, there will be no eggs that are exclusive to iOS users.
  • No eggs require you to pay for an item to unlock them, the items are purely optional.
So this year, we've decided to do something different. Instead of having just Arbirator's Roblox News builders do the maps this year, we've decided to reach out to the community for submissions. Yes, that's right - your map can be featured in the egg hunt this year!

Details for map submissions:
  • Map submissions should be sent to RNEggHunt with the subject 'Egg hunt map submission'
  • Maps must have a specific theme (Can't have water-theme in one area, and then volcanic-themed in another area.)
  • Maps may not have hidden areas (Except without the explicit consent of RNEggHunt).
  • All map submissions will not have scripts - if you want a specific effect to be added, talk to RNEggHunt about how it can be incorporated into your map.)
  • Maps should be unique, free-model use is discouraged.
  • Regular terrain is preferred over triangle-terrain.
  • Maps should be medium to large in size.
  • Deadline is April 10th.
If we like your map submission, we'll put it in the egg hunt for everyone to play! You will also receive credit for the map, and you will receive in-game currency as a reward (and possibly an extra prize).

We're also looking for egg property ideas, PM RNEggHunt with your ideas for the egg hunt.

More details to come soon :)

Screenshots of the hub (Created by Demjot), still waiting on map submissions.

Game Spotlight: Natural Disaster Survival by Stickmasterluke

Hello everyone! This is my first review as a Game Journalist on Roblox News. If you're wondering why I've been inactive since being hired, I've been battling an unexpected crash of my new Dell computer since February, and just recently got the replacement. I'm so glad to have it back!

I'll kick off my first article by writing on a very favorite game of mine, Natural Disaster Survival .

New Catalog Analyst: IceFang307!

Hello to everyone,
As a new Catalog analyst to RN, my name is IceFang307. Ice for short.
Before I joined RN, I was more into war groups of ROBLOX, coordinating in most of these groups, (and still am). As a coordinator, I analyse a lot in these groups, mainly to watch others and observe their skills and talent, and main group functions. Basic job. After then, I began to get fond of the blog system.
Wishing to assist in every way possible, in mostly analyzing and expressing in my thoughts, as these are my motives that really get me going, (Gee, I have a short list) which want me to contribute to the news for ROBLOX, today, and it's future. Thats basically it. (I must have forgotten what else I wanted to say for my bio. Lol)  I will be analyzing catalog items in terms of their aesthetics and their investment opportunities. Thank you, and hope to begin my role soon.

Hat Review: Rainbow Hatbot

RAINBOW HATBOT

Rainbow Hatbot
Mesh/Texture: 10/10
This is one of, if not the most, awesome retextures of 2014 so far. It uses the same mesh as Mr. Hatbot, but every aspect of it has been turned rainbow. The black top hat part now cycles through every color of the rainbow and the eyes have become small color wheels. The arms and antenna remained the same, but it's barely noticeable. There isn't much else to say. Mr. Hatbot completely rainbowfied.

Price: 10/10
I'm certain nobody saw the price of this hat coming. A RAINBOW VERSION of MR. HATBOT?! It's gonna be through-the-roof expensive! I'd better sell all of my limiteds right now! That's what everyone was thinking, right? Well, wrong. The price of this amazing retexture turned out to only be 500 robux! That's only 10% of Mr. Hatbot's original price and about 15% of its current selling prices. I'm sure everybody who has 500 robux to spare was overjoyed when they found out how cheap it was. Rainbow Hatbot was on sale for 500 robux for a little less than 2 days and then went offsale at 1,558 sales. Congratulations to those 1,558 people, you now own an epic hat which will undoubtedly be worth more than its original price in the event of it going limited.

Overall: 10/10
How could I NOT give this hat a 10/10? It's a rainbow version of Mr. Hatbot which was an amazing hat to begin with, it looks amazing, and it was only 500 ROBUX! Good job, ROBLOX, good job.

Place Review: The Mirror Game

Unless you don't watch the official ROBLOX Twitch channel or look at the ROBLOX blog, you would have probably heard of 'The Mirror Game' by cheatmaster18. It is an obstacle course, however, it's not your average or usual obstacle course. It's an obstacle course based almost entirely on reflection which certainly sounds very interesting.

ROBLOX Egg Hunt 2014: What to expect

GET READY EVERYBODY! The Egg Hunt is coming. Based on like 10 leaks I found, I'm going to be
predicting pretty much everything that there is to predict for the upcoming egg hunt, which has been confirmed to be released sometime this year on a recording of The Next Level, along with the Bloxcasts. Anyways, I'm just going to be addressing some questions that I'm sure all of you had. Nothing here is 100% verified, well, except for some things.

Gear Friday Review: St. Patrick's Day

This week for gears we got a clover shooting raygun, another gun that shoots rainbows, a snake summoning sword thingy-ma-bob, and Telamon's Irish relative in doll form. Time to move on to those fun reviews!

Chicken of the Month: March

And now it's time for number 3 in the Chicken of the Month series... the March chicken! Yay! A Saint Patricks themed chicken with shamrocks and gold an- wait, what? It's not Saint Patricks themed? WHAT?!

It's Pi Month themed instead. Ugh. Oh well, this is a once in a lifetime experience, guys! A whole month dedicated to a giant irrational number named after a dessert food! Woohoo...

The Difference Between Computer Lag and Internet Lag

Hello there, it's your friendly neighbourhood Zakary Wilson here, (lol). And I'm writing a post today about lag, because I forever hear cases about people who buy new computers to improve the lag they get on ROBLOX and it turns out that it is actually their internet, the entire time..

Darkness 2 Review

The long awaited sequel to the popular game 'Darkness' by loleris is finally here and it instantly hit the front page with many people enjoying it. Thus today, I bring to you the review of 'Darkness 2'.

When you first enter the game, you are greeted with a waiting screen. After that, instead of spawning into a lobby like in Darkness, you see a spectate screen where you can view everyone who is still alive. Actually, the lobby is still there but you just can't see it. I feel that it is a great update since the lobby wasn't that great and in the past you could only see the beast.

Gear Friday Review: Pi Day

Happy 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105... Day! Oops, I mean,
Happy Pi Day! March 14th, or 3/14, is a day dedicated to pi, or pie, or tarte, or whatever your country calls it. So what better day than this to release tons of gears dedicated to.. well, pie! Wait, what? Oh, it's only the 7th? Well.. why is ROBLOX making pi-related things a week before Friday...? Well, it's actually Pi Month, 3/14, or March 2014, so it's not JUST pi day this year, kinda neat, eh?

The pies released this Friday, erm, I mean, the gears released this Friday each had something to do with pie. Whether it was shooting pies (or the occasional pi symbol at you), flinging pies through the air using the power of rage, or even turning your foes into pie, this Gear Friday's got it all!

Of course, I'm mainly going to go over what you guys already know, because I'm fun like that. Maybe a spoiler or two. Maybe.

Gear Friday Review: Mardi Gras

So this week's gears are all Mardi Gras themed to celebrate the upcoming Mardi Gras holiday celebrated down in New Orleans at the start of Lent. It's a fantastic celebration apparently, I've never been, but I have experienced people throwing beads at me off of floats. Close enough.. right?

Five gears were actually released this Friday, four of which were related to the topic, and then there was a Hot Wheels Truck which basically came out for no reason at all and was completely random, but I guess Hot Wheels bought ROBLOX now so all ROBLOXians will be turning into trucks or something. Oh well, faster transportation.

Dread [Alpha] by databrain

It's certainly been a while since I've last done a post in general but I guess that's what life and a lack of things to write about does to you. Today we're taking a look at databrain's second attempt at a horror game, Dread. This seems to technically be my first "horror" game related post so it should be fun. One thing to keep in mind is this game is in Alpha if it wasn't made apparent enough by the "[Alpha]" in the title. Without further ado let's take a look into Dread. It should also be noted I will not be talking about the whole game, and only the first few chapters or so.
