Reminder for All Retexture Contests!

When we judge the Retexture contest Entries, we look for high quality retextures. HanSolo996, one of the RAOC admins, has brought up a couple of things that are really important when it comes to judging and retexturing that we haven't really kept in mind.
  • Make Retextures using meshes that haven't been recently made! Use meshes that inspire you to Retexture them, not just because Roblox has used the mesh in a past Holiday (Ex. Dr. Love/Dr. Shamrock Mesh, and Jazz Man/Radioactive Man mesh). If there's no real inspiration, just want to make it because it was published recently, they usually turn out lower quality and somewhat boring. Try to find a vision!
  • When Retexturing, try and make the Retextures detailed! Wouldn't you rather have a hat that had a texture to it (fuzzy, scratchy, rough, etc.) than plastic? No retexture is ever "complete", if you will. There's almost always room for improvement. Try to find that. Remember, when you make a retexture, you're putting YOUR name on that piece of work and saying I approve this. Make sure it's good!
Keep these 2 tips in mind when you Retexture and submit your entries to RN. Usually these Contests stretch over a long period of time, so don't rush to make a Retexture! We look over EVERY Retexture that gets sent to us! Take your time!
