RŌBLOX Hat Review: Ghosdeeri

                                    After 1 ½ years, through several holiday sales, DarkGenex's Ghosdeeri: The Cursed Spirit was published. On the last day of this year's BLOXtober 13 Days of Gifts, Big Gift of the Phantom Hunter came across us, and Ghosdeeri happened to be the result. The hat is the same as the retexture, expect Roblox added some blue smoke to jazz it up a little bit.

Classic Hat Review: Stage Prop!

GUESS WHO? YEA THAT'S RIGHT! I'M BACK FROM THE DEAD AND LET ME TELL YOU, THAT PLACE IS SCARY. No but seriously I am back from my ROBLOX leave and I'm bringing you more posts than you have ever seen. It's gonna be like BING BANG BONG. No but seriously all jokes aside, I won't be officially joining the RN Team but I will be back posting more as a "helper" rather than a full time staff member. I decided to come back because I really missed the team and the ROBLOX community, and I'm willing to meet all the new staff members and to make the RN community a better place.

But less talk about me, more talk about today's review. I decided, since I'm coming back, to do an old school hat review that most people probably don't know about, less even have it. This was one of my first hat's and it's very cheaply priced for anyone to buy. So without further ado, I introduce... PROP HAT, wait that's not it. STAGE PROP!

Mesh: 10/10

I'd love to say that the simplicity of this mesh is what makes it a great hat, but that's not all. It's not only simple, it's unique. There hasn't ever been another hat like this with the same mesh. Saying that, I'd really like to see a retexture of this, such as the "Illumina Prop" or the "Darkheart Prop." But if there was a prop using any other SFotH sword, it would probably ruin the uniqueness of this hat and it would probably make LMaD go crazy. And we all know we don't want any of that. It is a perfect hat for the Triple Hat feature and goes perfectly well with other hats but I'll talk about those later.

Texture: 8/10

Again, amazingly simple and unique. There are some places (such as the handle) where you can see a line that separates the beginning and end of the texture. It does represent the linked sword, and I can't emphasis enough the simplicity of this hat, yet the uniqueness either. I feel like if ROBLOX were to release a Linked Sword gear, it would ruin this hat. I gave this an 8 because I feel like there were spots where it could be more fine tuned but being one of ROBLOX's first ever hats made, it deserves its solid 8.

Pricing: 10/10

Hmm, lets talk about this pricing. Will it inflate ROBLOX? No. Is it limited? No. Will LMaD go crazy over it? No. Will it leave a hole in your bank? No. Is it worth the money? Unless you don't have 50 tix, then yes. Yes it is. For the cheaply priced 50 tix, there really isn't anything more to the pricing. Again, if there were a retexture of this, such as Darkheart Prop, and it was made limited, the pricing of both hats would be slightly ruined. Of course, it deserves a 10/10 because ROBLOX hasn't made some stupid mistake by raising the price because everyone on ROBLOX is rich now. Now even your simple guest who just joined ROBLOX can wear something so simple but they can feel cool.

Style: 10/10

Like I said before, the Triple Hat feature really helps this out. If it weren't for the Triple Hat feature, then I probably wouldn't be reviewing this. It's kind of like the Sword Pack. If there was no Triple Hat, then the hat would probably be useless. I mean, who likes to look at some bald guy walking around with a sword stuck into his head.

Recap:

This hat is perfect for it's price and what really concerns me is that this hat is somewhat lost in the swarm of limiteds. We don't appreciate these simple and cheap hats as much as the flashy and expensive hats. I feel like sometimes people should slow down, and wear this hat and not really brag about "Oohhh look at me I have a sparkly fedora and it's worth millions and all you're wearing is a sword in your head." What I would really like to appreciate would be if we were to promote a special day where you could only wear hats like these and make yourself look like an idiot. Then if everyone looks like an idiot, no one could laugh at each other "OH LOOK YOU'RE POOR YOU WEAR A SWORD IN YOUR HEAD."

USA All the Way Hat Review

USA all the Way

"Its from a book that is a combination of batman and V for Vendetta. I win."

Mesh - 7/10 This is a good top hat mesh, but the only problem I have is that it makes the top hat lanky and flimsy. Maybe that's why roblox made a new top hat, this one looks like the cat in the hat. It just seems too wide and too tall.

Texture - 6/10 This texture the simple stripes and stars, but nothing more. A bit plain. There are a ring of stars as the top hat band, red and white stripes, then just blue and white.

Overall - 6/10 This is a simple american top hat, but the mesh looks unappealing, and the texture is basic.It does look slightly better on your character, but this hat isn't even for sale anymore, probably because it is to old and was replaced by another american top hat.

Frenemy Hat Review

Frenemy

I’m truly sorry; I do not have a quote for this.

There are no quotes about a head skewered on a pike that attaches at your neck.

But Dave Barry probably said something about it.

Mesh- 8/10 This is simple. I’m not sure if it is really a custom mesh. It looks like a HeadMesh with two cylinders. There isn’t much more to say about it, but it does suit its strange purpose. 

Texture- 9/10 I’m uncertain about this. The texture is simple, just like headrow and headstack. It’s cool. Plain colour textures are often just as effective as the detailed ones. ROBLOX should make more hats like this. 

Other- 10/10 This is a classic. I mainly wrote this article so people could know about the strange hat. It goes perfect with headstack and headrow. The whole item is weird. It’s called Frenemy, not Headsomething. The description talks about parasites, and it strange.

Overall- 10/10 Such a weird thing.

Classic Hat Review: Sir Rich McMoneyston, III

'Ello there, chaps! Fancy a cup o' tea today? Ah, why 'm I writing in what appears to be a 'orrible English accent? That's because t'day, we'll be taking a look at one of my favorite hats, which, for some reason, reminds me o' England: Sir Rich McMoneyston, III. So, without further ado, let's get down to the review!


Mesh: The mesh is very original, and it personally reminds me of something the guy on the Monopoly box would wear. This one hat itself consists of three items - A top hat, a monocle, and a mustache large enough to rival Hercule Poirot's (Agatha Christie fans will get the reference)! 3 original items in one hat? I consider that quite a steal! 8/10.

Appearance: The mustache and top hat are a nice, dark shade of brown. The top hat rests slightly tilted on your avatar's head, which I like quite a lot. The monocle stands out a bit, with it's blue lens and golden rim, but I find it to be a nice fit to the rest of the piece. There's not much to complain about here! 10/10.

Pricing: There is a reason as to the many references of money in the hat's name. This is because, of course, this hat is incredibly expensive. At 11,111 ROBUX, this hat is one of the fewest sold items in the Catalog. I assume that this is only due to its pricing, as the hat itself is quite nice. As of now, only about 700 copies have sold, also making it one of the rarer, non-limited hats you'll find. I'm not going to  give this hat a horrible score in this category because I believe it should be at a substantially high price. Plus, like I mentioned earlier, you're basically getting 3 hats for the price of one! 9/10.

Overall: 9/10.

Classic Hat Review: Sk9r Boi

Classic Hat Review: Sk9r Boi      

 Hey guys, Ulquiorra98 here, coming to you with a Classic Hat Review! Now, today, we'll be taking a look at one of the most popular hats on ROBLOX, the second hat in the game's "Skater" hat lineup, "Sk9r Boi." So, without further ado, let's get down to the review!

Mesh: The Sk9r Boi is simply a retexture of the original Sk8r Boi, the only difference between the two being that the Sk8r Boi hat has a blond/orange/crimson color scheme, while the Sk9r Boi has a brown/gray/black color scheme. While the mesh of the Sk9r Boi Hat isn't all that creative, it does look great on your character, so I give it a 9/10.

Appearance: Like all other ROBLOX Skater hats, this one has to parts to it. There's the cap itself, gray in color with a black rim, and the hair surrounding the outside of the cap, which in this case is a sort of dark auburn color. This hat goes well with any pair of shades, especially Clockwork's Shades, and deserves a 9/10.

Pricing: Sk9r Boi hit the catalog a few years back at the price of 139 ROBUX, 74 more than its predecessor, Sk8r Boi. While I'd like for the price to be under 100 ROBUX, it's still an easily affordable hat, and therefore gets a 9/10 in this category.

Overall: 9/10

Black Friday Hat Review: Silverthorn Antlers!

Today is Friday, 23/11/2012, and this means Black Friday!

A number of old classic items have gone back onsale, and

I decided to review the Silverthorn Antlers!

Basic Stats:

Created: 3/27/2009

Favourited: 6,582 times

Total Sold: 12,008 sold

Genre: All

Description: "Silverthorn powder is prized for it's alchemical properties. However, aquisition often proves problematic for unwary adventurers. The substance is unique to the antlers of the Silverthorn Stag, a beast of uneven temperment located only in the remote reaches of the forest of Arden.

Mesh: 10/10

One of the most recognised meshes in all of ROBLOX, the Antler

mesh suits any type of hat and goes brilliant with it. Including top hat,

hoods, and especially Dominii.

Texture: 8/10

It has a nice shiny texture which makes it stand out nicely, but it's

not as realistic as what real antlers should look like, but nonetheless it's

a nice take on the classic Wanwood Antlers!

Creativity: 8/10

Even though there had already been an antlers realesed, this one

didn't fall flat on it's face as a really bad retexture. Kudos to ROBLOX

on this one.

Price: 9/10

At this Black Friday sale, it is for sale at an amazing price of 400R$! 

Before it went onsale incase it went limited, people were offering over 10,000R$

for this! Now you can snag it up for only 400R$!

Overall: 8.75/10

I think this hat is an absolute steal, if you have enough for it, you will have no

regrets after buying it, the price it is at is crazy.

2-N-1 Classic Hat Review - Big and Bigger Head!

So on my last review, I made a small rant on the recently created 3.0 hats. Now, think all the way back to 2007. Yeah, hard isn't it. And, in this review I will also be reviewing 2 HATS for the price of one. Yeah, like I'm getting paid. But, without further ado, I'm more than happy to present... BIG AND BIGGER HEAD!!!

Mesh:

Now although in the picture, the yellow one looks bigger than the red one, the red one is indeed the biggerhead. I love the meshes on these hats, they're just like a "shell" that covers you're head. The meshes are very simple and being one of the very first hats made, it is a very nice start to ROBLOX's hats. Bighead: 10/10 Biggerhead: 10/10

Texture:

Now, just like the mesh, it is a very simple texture. I like how they made them different colors so you could distinct them from each other. Yellow is a great color because that was the original "noob's" head color. Red was a little "out there" but I can see why they chose red because red is distinct from yellow. I was thinking that they could've added different faces on these but I'll go into more depth of that in the "Suggestions" section. Bighead: 10/10 Biggerhead: 10/10

Outfits:

This is where these hats fell a little. Although the hats are great looking, because of their size, it is hard to find a good combo for them. The bighead is much easier to find one though. If you have a headrow for it, that works perfectly well. Biggerhead, though, is harder to find a combo for. But these hats on their own looks amazing already. Another hat combo for these is adding horns to them. A viking helm could add horns. Bighead: 9/10 Biggerhead: 8/10

Value:

Bighead originally sold for 70R$ and Biggerhead originally sold for 550R$ (thanks to NonstopEpic for this info) and Bighead sold 14,302 times and Biggerhead only sold 2,126 times. Now, back in 2007, 70R$ was considered a decent amount of R$ and 550R$ was considered a lot. Rumors on the forums has it that these will go on the backlog list for limiteds. Which means, they might go limited. Some people on LMaD say that the Bighead will sell up to 5k. That's a great profit. Some people say biggerhead might even sell for 40k. Bighead: 10/10 Biggerhead: 11/10 (for obvious reasons)

Suggestions:

1. I don't really have many suggestions for this. These are almost perfect. One of my concerns, though, is the fact that biggerhead is smaller than bighead in the picture. When I first bought bighead, I thought I had the biggest head. Then I went in-game with someone and found that they had a bigger red head (no pun intended). I thought that I was supposed to have a bigger head but it turns out that mine was actually smaller.

2. I was really hoping that you could add different faces on these heads, like a sad face for when you are sad (duh) or an angry face for when you are angry (again duh). Maybe, if ROBLOX scripted it so that the face that you put on you're original head, actually adds onto you're head, that would make these hats better.

Overall, these are almost perfect hats, and if these go limited, don't hesitate to buy one, because if you do, and the prices rise, you're head will fill up with frustration and get so big (hehe you see what I did there?) it will pop! I bought this when it was 70R$ and it was great!

Void Star CLASSIC Hat Review

Hello, BillCheesey5 here, today I'm reviewing the classic hat, the "Void Star". Enjoy.

 "Void Star to zer0, Foolishly dereferenced. No call stack. All g0ne."

Mesh: The mesh is that of a crown, and it seems to be placed on your head correctly. So far so good. It has spiky bits all around it, and has some knobs (?) on the front, which I can't seem to understand, although without them, the Void Star would be a bit plain and bland. This hat has a very nice mesh, it gets a 9/10.

Texture: The texture is a bit plain and colourless, but with colours like yellow or green on it, the Void Star would look out of place and silly. It's colourlessness gives it a certain quality of an empty void, hence the name Void Star. The name matches the texture, which I really like. The hat gets a 10/10.

Public Enjoyment: This is where I ask people on Twitter how much they like the item I'm reviewing. 


@Phantomazing: I had it before. It was awesome. Goes great with everything. Then I sold it for Halloween gift money...

Overall: Overall, this hat is classic, has the correct qualities of a void and matches the texture. Also has a great mesh and appears to be enjoyed by the community. Overall, 9/10.

Umbrella Hat (CLASSIC) Hat Review

Time for a Classic Hat Review, I'll be reviewing the "Umbrella Hat". Btw, follow me on Twitter, I'm @BillCheesey5.

Mesh: This mesh is nice! It's shaped like one of those Umbrellas that people wear on their heads when it's raining. Those hats are funny :3 anyways, it's accurate, nice, and realistic! :D 10/10.


Texture: The colours, they just jump out at you, they're eye-catching. Nice rainbow colours, it's like the, uh... Rainbow Shaggy's deformed brother. Or sister. Anyways, it's eye-catching and colourful! :D 10/10.


General Hat (How the Mesh and Texture look together, etc): The hat in general is very innovative, but realistic at the same time. Very good mix of colours. 10/10


Overall: An innovative hat, colourful, eye-catching and RAINBOWWWWWW. It gets a well-deserved 10/10, a perfect score! :D

Classic hat review: Bandana

So, today I decided to have a look at the "Bandana", an old hat, and an old favourite hat of many, and this is how the review went.

Basic Stats:

-Created 1/27/2008

-Favorited 11,669 times

-Total Sold 17,736

Genre: All

-Description "This bandana is perfect for specialists on secret missions and kung-fu masters, as well as for people who just want their hat to billow dramatically in the wind."

Mesh:

The mesh of the Bandana is pretty small, and may be hard

to make out if you're wearing 2-3 hats, but otherwise it fits

well around the head.

7/10

Texture:

The texture for the Bandana is a plain, green-grey shade, which

is pretty basic, but I think it suits the hat to black or any other

colour, lacks detail though.

7/10

Creativity:

The hat is perfect for people who want to pretend to be a ninja, 

so that is it's strong point, it may not have taken long to come up with,

as it is a fairly simple concept for a popular type of style.

8/10

Price:

At 600 tickets, I think you get good value for your money, as 600 tickets is

only about 60 robux, which may take a while for non-bc'ers to attain,

but I think if you bought it you would be pleased with your purchase.

Overall:

I highly recommend this hat, as you have many different choices of

how you want to wear it, and looks great on your character, and

at 600 tickets you can't really go wrong.
