A Letter from Darwin12

My name is Noah.

I figured this would be an interesting experience, something to return to. After I quit ROBLOX News a few months ago because of a variety of reasons, mostly attributed to having a personal loss of interest in ROBLOX, I kept moving on. Recently, I've been producing the last of my work on ROBLOX and cancelling my BC. It seems this is the sort of thing that I've always wanted to do: I wanted to access five years on ROBLOX in one post and get back to you on the overall influence ROBLOX had on me.

For some background: five years ago on the day of November 1, 2009, I wrote myself a personal letter for the future declaring that I would become a different person and decide who I was as an individual. At the mere age of nine, I wrote this letter and addressed specifically what I wanted to do then.

Thank You Shedletsky!

From all of us at the Roblox News team, and everyone on ROBLOX, we thank you. You have inspired many young minds and adult minds alike, and have helped us all get to where we are today. You have helped Roblox progress for the past 8 years and I am thrilled to have had the chance to have met you, even if only for brief periods of time.

When I asked these people how you inspired them, I got these responses, and I am sure everyone agrees with them!

Should ROBLOX introduce Play-in-Browser?

ROBLOX has hit a point of growth where the gamersphere of people in this community now have seen the light of the game ROBLOX. However, with an increasing number of innovative in-browser operating systems, including the Chromebook [which I am actually using right now for the first time while writing this], and operating systems that are mobile-esque and mobile-based, such as the new Computer-Modified Android OS that will be used on HP's upcoming and exciting new "Slatebook", are starting to create a new market for computers. Even though the OS usage across companies is still extremely segmented, the amassing number of tablets and browser-exclusive Operating Systems is eventually going to start making a huge market for itself.

The Last Survivor: A Tale Based on Murder Mystery

Hello guys, this article is just a story I wrote in 10 minutes or so based on the game Murder Mystery. I just wanted to write a horror-type story and enjoy Roblox so just mixed the two. It probably isn't that amazing nor that long, but as I said, it took only 10 minutes or so.

Most Bought Gears of All Time

Hello guys, I know that I rarely do articles now. I have just been busy; pretty lame excuse I guess. Well anyhow, just going to do this article about the most popular gears of the different categories. I am only counting those gears with over 100,000 buys.

Which is better: The Ability to Code or C-Frame?

I actually do get a few people ask me in-game whether they should learn to code or CFrame, I usually give them short advice such as "Take the time in your life to learn one, then proceed to learn the other; that way you will be able to manipulate both abilities", but in this case, which should you learn first? I'm going to weigh out the pros and cons of both abilities; then write a conclusion of what I have figured out.

Now, coding is a brilliant ability to conceive, it really does help when you are either contributing or trying to create a game, I personally found coding the easiest to learn first, but many people do not have capacity to learn the more time-consuming and dedication-filled ability first. As I just said, coding takes a huge amount of dedication and time. It took me 1 year to learn scripting fully, however there was many cases of me losing interest in the subject and regaining interest. This is one of many of my bad traits, however many people also endure this awful trait, which would make them need a whole more willpower than the person who doesn't have that trait.
Coding allows you to manipulate objects and scripts to do simple things like invisibility buttons to rather complicated things such as decompilers. Decompilers are a lot more complicated that invisibility buttons due to the fact of the amount of time and effort that is needed to do it, however it can be accomplished and is very often accomplished by users who have put their mind into the coding world.

The ability to CFrame equips you with the skill to replicate original buildings within the gaming world and it also allows you to build brilliant buildings from scratch. With the ability to CFrame and build it would help you to be able to create real architecture due to your previous experience on ROBLOX, it makes everything a tiny bit more easier.
Building is also a very easy to learn and a lot less time consuming then scripting is, and you do not have to suffer with the frustration you get if a line of code is breaking your script. However, when you are coding, you can't wait to see the finished result which inspires and encourages you to finish the game a lot quicker.

Throughout all, both abilities are pretty valuable skills to possess, however in conclusion, I would suggest that you learn coding first, above all else. This is because of the encouragement the finished result in your head gives you will inspire you to do better and learn quicker. And like they say, 'there is no game unless there is code', well, they don't say I just say!

Thanks for reading,

I'm BACK!

How ROBLOX Managed to Take a Perfectly Good Meme, and Ruin it in hours.

The Doge.

This was once a meme. A good one, popular across Tumblr, iFunny and other outlets, but it's life of seclusion came to an end last week with the beginning of a doltish and vapid scheme of ROBLOX users that overused the meme.

ROBLOX users managed to take a perfectly good meme, and make a joke out of it. A joke that expired in my mind in less than twenty minutes. This so called, doge takeover is even more proof of how our generation takes not only memes, but music, art, creative work, networks, games, and other variations of pop culture, and blows them up into an absolutely awful perspective. They attempt to make big deals of things that anyone else can see and do, and this isn't just exclusive to ROBLOX.

Define Slenderman; Slenderman was a highly popular (lets called it) 'meme' beloved and highly original.

Then, you had people similar to the general ROBLOX community blow it up. They made this Slenderman 'meme' into their variation of Internet Pop Culture and within weeks of doing this, the meme altogether started to die. People tried to make their own variations of "Slender: The Game" on ROBLOX, and other platforms and not only was this destructive, but it was unoriginal.

If you haven't noticed; I have an issue with unoriginal people. I suppose using memes in the proper way is a great thing, but making entire games of them on ROBLOX and other platforms is absolute lunacy.

So, the ROBLOX Community managed to take a PERFECTLY GOOD MEME and ruin it in hours through an insensitive and unoriginal attempt to make something comedic and dulled the meme to death in the wrong way. It was okay for the first 12 hours, but covering everything in Doge for a couple of days took it too far.

tl;dr: Stop making a big deal out of memes. They're nothing special. They look a tad silly if used in the wrong context.

ROBLOX: Doge Takeoever

I know what you're thinking; 'slow news day' - and you'd be right.

'Doge is a slang term for “dog” that is primarily associated with pictures of Shiba Inus (nicknamed “Shibe”) and internal monologue captions on Tumblr. These photos may be photoshopped to change the dog’s face or captioned with interior monologues in Comic Sans font.'

- Source: http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/doge

The internet has been taken by storm by the Doge meme several times with famed examples such as the 4chan raid of the Murica Reddit sub reddit-section, and the creation of the Doge sub-reddit. ROBLOX has fallen victim to the latest wave of Doge fever and thus references to the Shiba Inu 'Doge' have appeared all over ROBLOXia.

Here are some notable examples of the Doge takeover:

    Very dark game_Image
  • 'Dogeness' - Most of you will know this game as 'Darkness' by loleris who has created two aliases in spirit of the Doge mood: Dogeris and Shedogesky (a personal favourite of mine). It would be cool if the monster that viscously hunts players down was adorned in Doge attire.

  • All Things Doge - The prestigious and esteemed 'All Things ROBLOX' sub forum was changed to 'All Things Doge' for a short period highlighting the moderator's sense of humour (yes it does exist). It's nice that there is still a relaxed attitude towards the ROBLOX forums and the professionalism of their appearance - ROBLOX employees haven't turned into drab profiteers and businessmen, yet.

    Apocalypse Rising_Image
  • Apocalypse Dogeing - The Apocalypse Rising everyone knew and loved has been removed to be replaced by the new and improved Dogeing! On a serious note, this was pretty funny and satisfied the cries of the masses (i.e Shedletsky). Sadly Gusmanak hasn't changed his username to Gusnmandoge - we can only dream.

    The Stalker v2.83_Image
  • The Doge - The Stalker, a  creation by none other than CloneTrooper1019, has been modified to meet the Doge needs of ROBLOXia. As you can see from the thumbnail  Doge likes using short sentences to convey his complex emotions.

    ROBLOX Dodgeball 2 [12% Done]_Image
  • Doge ball - Dodgeball as it was known previously, is a game by alexnewtron. This is an excellent play on words as the original title was very similar to Doge ball. It would be awesome if you got to fight a Doge boss. Sadly this latest fad will probably die before Alex gets round to it. That is the way of the world.

Shibe Transparent
  • Shibe Transparent - Why not make the most of this Doge occasion by purchasing the lovely Shibe t-shirt created by the popular ROBLOX forumer: weinmanj? For a price of 20 Tix it's a bargain. Alternatively you could make one for yourself for free, it really depends how lazy of a person you are.

There are plenty of other examples of Doge madness on the ROBLOX games page for you to check out!

And regarding the point of this article apart from the slight amusement of the reader; users will be able to use it as a reference to look nostalgically at the time of the 'great Doge' before everyone got bored of the fad (or the mods decided enough puppy business was enough).

I'll leave you with this wonderful quote from Shedletsky: "Cry Havok! And let slip the DOGEs of war!"

Thank for reading!

Multi-Tasking Explained.

I have decided to start doing a series of real life computing posts, these will be posted not on a strict rota but as and when I'm free (have school most days and/or work). They will be based on how the hardware and software of a computer works. If you have any suggestions please feel free to tweet me (@roblox_tweeter) or pm me on ROBLOX but I'm rarely on ROBLOX any more  Also if you wish me to do Python Programming lessons, maybe on YouTube please ask as well. Thankyou.

Today I have decided to post on "multi-tasking", a method for allowing users to do more tasks as and when you need to without affecting the computer too much.

How a processor "multi-tasks"

What do you understand by multi-tasking, not much I imagine. What is it? How does it work? Why does the processor use it?

What is it?

Multi-tasking is when you can have multiple programs or pieces of code running on a processor. It is never actually running more than once instruction at a time as a processor is fast but can only focus it's registers and processing power on one thing at once.

How does it work?

Multi-tasking can be simulated in a few ways as it's just the processor quickly doing one task after another or parts of a task. Here are 2 examples of how it is simulated:
  • Round Robin/Time Slicing - Each task is run for a short period of time (not necessarily until completion) then the next is run etc.
  • Priority Based - Each task is given a priority level and then run according to it's priority e.g. priority 1 could be a "Hardware malfunction" whereas priority 5 could be "Printer is out of paper". A bit of a silly example but obviously hardware malfunctions need to be resolves as soon as possible.

Why does the processor use it?

Each processor or core can only do one task at a time so when a user is trying to complete a task or simply listen to music whilst word processing the computer needs to be able to allow this; so the computer will give very short time slices to allow each task to work this allows a lot more user run applications to be run cocurrently (at the same time).

Opinion: Roblox as Homework?

Hello Readers, RayMan36 here with a controversial topic: School projects on Roblox. I know none of you can fully understand a practical use for it, but let me dive in.

I. Popularity
first of all, you might miss the presentation, head stuck in a toilet and all  I understand all things one might say upon seeing roblox. I know I've opened roblox countless times in school, and have had the most bizarre things said to me in that event
event: onOpeningRoblox: connect(function
sorry

anyway, here's a few examples:

  • Ray, why are you playing with action figures
  • dude, that minecraft update looks terrible!
  • LOL club penguin is so old
  • Ray, that's a weird facebook photo
  • why are you online shopping at school? and is that amazon?
  • you REALLY have to pay 2,000 real USD for that crummy hat?
  • LOL I played that in second grade, get a life. Give me your lunch money.
Conclusion: Nobody knows what a 'roblecks' is. You can use this to your advantage, which leads me to the next section.

II. Practicality
I wouldn't say using ROBLOX in a project, particularly presenting one, is easy. Especially in my school; you can not download anything without being reprimanded. Also, the school's computers, at any given moment, could be hit with a giant meteor and turn extinct (dinosaur).
Listen: if nobody in this class we will do the project or know what ROBLOX is, one could say you were using an architectural program, and promptly give you a swirly. No, but in different eyes, ROBLOX looks different. If you go all out on a project, it would look so fine detail nobody would know you were playing a game. Transition.

III. Beauty and ROBLOX's own opinions on the topic
There are some places on roblox which are absolutely gut-wrenching. But when nobody has seen a quality roblox game, they think it is some form of art style. It's creative, nonetheless.
Furthermore, remember when roblox spotlighted Globe Theater? With my information, it's one of the only School Projects on roblox, apart from the one I am making. Did I tell you? I am making a scavenger hunt game based off of Harper Lee Collins' To Kill a Mockingbird. Aside, onto ROBLOX's own opinions.
With the facts I have been given (main stage presentation at Chicago BloxCon), that is roblox's dream. They said, excuse me for paraphrasing, it was their dream. I do remember them introducing the concept of once having major businesses using ROBLOX as more than a game, a tool. So using ROBLOX as a school project would be a definite plus.

Agree? Disagree? Comment below!

Gracias and Adios amigos, tengo que irme. Hasta la vista!

Impersonation of staff members on Roblox News.

Hello ROBLOXians,
This is zinc707 here - I just wanted to let you guys know about an issue that has been occurring lately. We've had numerous reports of users that are impersonating us on Blogger. Below is an image of one incident that was reported. These users vandalized another user's blog with these comments - claiming to be us.
To clarify, Roblox News does not endorse flame wars/competition against other blogs in an unethical manner. With that in mind, I will be adding a link under every Roblox News staff member that points directly to their real profile. You can compare the usernames of those users to the real profiles, and verify if they are us or not.

If you find that a user is impersonating one of our staff members, please report them to Google/Blogger, so action can be taken. Also - send me an email with the link to the user's profile, so I can personally deal with them. My email dedicated to Roblox is joshuadeboer707@gmail.com

Thanks,
~zinc707

Strobe Tournament: Join Our Team!

Strobe Tournament!

What is this?

Strobe is a game being developed by the brilliant user, redditor, WhoBloxedWho and 3DShooter. It was started a while back at this place. The game is very well made and is an exciting game to play, I personally can spend hours playing it without being bored.
I suggest reading the information page on the game for detailed controls.

What weapons are there?

There are 5 classes to choose from:

Defender:

A class with a rocket launcher type weapon that can damage within a certain radius but takes more energy to fire therefore longer reload.

Cleric:

A class with a machine gun with low damage but fast fire rate. this class also feature a shield which (when hit) you don't take any damage. This class can also heal teammates by firing at them.

Knight:

A class with a semi-automatic rifle. This weapon is very accurate and great range with reasonable damage and not much energy used per shot.

Viking:

This is a shotgun style weapon with a short range but good damage. It can be very effective when used properly.

Random:

As the title says every time you re-spawn you get a random class.

What's the point of this post?

Today (9/4/2013 or 4/9/2013) redditor posted on his group Team Rudimentality saying that there was going to be a tournament soon.
redditor's post on the group wall.
Now, why am I telling you this. I have had the idea that Roblox News can put forward a team for this tournament and win (hopefully).
If you want to be in the team please send a Private Message to me (LOLFUNNY12345) with the subject "Strobe" and/or add me on skype and talk to me my name is "lolfunny12345" and/or tweet me @roblox_tweeter .

It will be mainly whoever enters first gets a place but if not then better Strobe players will get priority. Entries for staff and readers are both welcome.

Copyright: Why it's important.

Hello Robloxians,
For the first time ever, this article is not about Roblox, but an ever important issue that needs to be discussed among our readers. That issue is copyright.

Copyright: What is it, and why does it matter?

Copyright is the legal concept, in which the author of original works receives exclusive rights to their work. Copyright means that if I make something, and my content is original (Ie: Writing an article, making a movie, composing music), then I hold exclusive rights to it. The main thing with copyright is the fact that since I created the original content, I have the right to be credited for my work, and elect who can use my content for their own purposes.

Why it matters: When watching a DVD, and you see the copyright warning, what does it mean? It means that since the creator of the film made an original creation, which is his/her property, he can set how he/she wants others to be able to view/use it. If the creator of the movie chooses to do so, he/she can elect to make it so people cannot copy his/her movie, and pass it off as their own.

This applies to any creative works, ie: Books, letters, movies, music, artwork etc.

Example: I copy the new hit movie, "Wreck-It-Ralph", and rename it, "Wreck-It-Felix." Next day, it goes to no. 1 in the box office. I'm bathing in money, while the original creator of the film is getting nothing.

Plagiarism: What is it, and why does it matter?

Plagiarism is where you take someone's work, modify it a bit, and pass it off as your own. Plagiarism is an actual crime, in which real consequences can be applied to the person who passed it off as their own.

Example of plagiarism:

Original work: Roblox News started way back in 2009, when I was still fairly new to the game and it's rich community. In 2011 the site's pageviews skyrocketed when John Shedletsky (Creative Director of ROBLOX) added Roblox News to the ROBLOX Developers Blog (now simply called the ROBLOX Blog) blogroll. This helped introduce a large amount of ROBLOX users to my blog, including future staff members. During that year RN went on to be featured by the staff at the ROBLOX Rally 2011 and reached over 150,000 pageviews. (From about page of our blog.)

Plagiarized work: Official Roblox News started way back in 2009, when I was still fairly new to the game and it's rich community. In 2011 the site's pageviews skyrocketed when John Shedletsky (Creative Director of ROBLOX) added Official Roblox News to the ROBLOX Developers Blog (now simply called the ROBLOX Blog) blogroll. This helped introduce a large amount of ROBLOX users to my blog, including future staff members. During that year ORN went on to be featured by the staff at the ROBLOX Rally 2011 and reached over 150,000 pageviews. (Copied work)

Even though the plagiarized work is different from the original work, it's still using the same wording from the original work. Plagiarism has serious consequences, frequently fines, or lawsuits against the person who copied it.

The reason why I bring this issue up:

Here at Arbirator's Roblox News, we love to see fans create their own fan sites. Each fan site is unique, and they all have different perspectives on what is occurring in the Robloxian community. However, we are noticing more and more cases in which fan sites are copying our creative content from our blog (Mostly articles, images, and passages of text from certain pages.) We do encourage creativity for users who make their own fan sites, but we cannot allow users to blatantly copy the content off of our site. We recently had a case of which a certain user's blog (Who I decline to name) copied our latest article, changed one word of it, and passed it off as his/her own.

The content on Arbirator's Roblox News is original, and never plagiarized. Users who are found to be plagiarizing our content will have serious consequences for their actions. With this user, we filed a DMCA (That's the Digital Millennium Copyright Act) takedown request, and are awaiting action. Google/blogger comply fully with the DMCA, and will take down blogs, and/or ban the owner of the blog.

We encourage creativity, but we cannot condone copying. The reasons are two-fold.
1. Users who copy our content draw traffic away from our Blog, and we lose viewers and traffic to our site.
2. Users who copy/plagiarize content in their early years are destined to copy/plagiarize content in their later years. If you copy an essay paper from a site/another person, try to pass it off as your own while in school, the school will immediately expel you, regardless of your previous offenses/reputation.

All we ask from our readers is simply, please don't copy our content, and please don't copy content from anywhere else. It's much better to write your own creative content than it is to plagiarize the content from others (The consequences far outweigh the benefits.) Besides - you might be the next big blog that is far more popular than Roblox News, or any other fan site. You'll never know unless you try.

This has been a post by zinc707, and I thank you for your time in this serious matter.

Nytraulics leaves Team Rudimentality

Nytraulics, the developer of Underscore, a top-down-shooter recently featured in the official Roblox blog, has left his development team named Team Rudimentality. At 3:19 PM PST January 13th, Nytraulics posted a shout on Team Rudimentality which read "I'm out." It would appear that soon after, he dropped out of the "Members" rank in the official group.
Team Rudimentality Logo

When pressed futher, the PR at Team Rudimentality, 3DShooter, stated the reason for Nytraulic's leaving was due to "social issues." One could only assume this means there were some communication problems or internal problems between members of the team, although this is not confirmed.

3DShooter also stated that development at Team Rudimentality "will continue as it has been doing for the past couple of weeks," and that it is unknown "at this time whether or not Nytraulics is going to continue with his game." A replacement for Nytraulics is currently confirmed to be not needed.

Nytraulics declined our interview.

Programming: Is it Skill or Knowledge?

This is a kind of questiony/answery post. I'm investigating scripting. I am assuming that a lot of you who are reading this now know what scripting means; so I'm going to get on with the post.

It's been debatable by so many people whether being able to write code is an art or knowledge, and if you say "Oh anybody can learn programming". You're wrong. Because my Nan can't even change her home page, she's only 70. But lets get on.
Knowledge and skill are completely different things. It's like being able to draw, it's not Knowledge, it's a talent you, and you alone were born with. For example, I'm awful at drawing, but my sense of Art is on the computer with Photoshop.

After reading that, what are your thoughts?

I mean, scripting could be knowledge, you learn it, you're not born knowing how to program, are you? But then again, you're not born knowing 1+1. Now you could work that out with your eyes shut. It's like saying that Maths is a skill. Or is it?

Maths has been an ancient subject because it's main, core. You can't have a planet without a core, you can't have a human without a heart, you can't have a Sun without a center. All those examples are things those individual objects need, like us, we need a heart and a brain. Maths is core, and it's also very attendant to programming. I just got a level 7c in my Maths Test, which is on course for A+/A*. Other people in my class got level 5c. So how is it knowledge? It must be skill. But it could be knowledge...

Cleverness, remember, all of you are born with a certain span your brain can learn, as you start to get older, you start to get wiser and it's harder to learn. As I said before, my Nan can't change her homepage on Chrome (You grow older and can't learn that easily).

My verdict is, debatable.
You can't choose between them, because each and every one of those reasons is valid, in their own way. You can't just blame age on bad-grade, and you can't blame skill on high-grade. It's just, you, and it's up to our generation to sort out our Nan's homepage's.

You must remember, we were born into a world of computers, our parents were not (unless you're reading this in ten years time or so!).

Another question for you:
What is the fastest travel?
Social Network..
e.g Twitter. Each tweet (if you're where I am) travels from UK to Canada back to UK every tweet I send, that means it's travelling faster than Concorde, Boeing, and Airbus. It's travelling at the speed of light. And that's what we were born into... The speed of light...

Your Feedback is Needed.

Your beloved place reviewer needs feedback. Here's a survey that you can all take. Completely optional survey. This is similar to Zakary99's survey, only better and longer. :3. I decided to do this because I haven't been active on RN lately and I need some help. I want your ideas and feedback. Click on the link below to begin!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGh5OXFSbUJyendGSDB1SElDdjRINHc6MQ

I will post the results in about 2 weeks or less. The results will change the way I do things here on RN!

Can users create their own graphics on ROBLOX?

This is a very unusual post for me to do, it's more talking about how users might be able to make graphics on ROBLOX, not just any graphics, Shadows, interactive water etc.

Now, on ROBLOX we are provided with a series of graphics:

  • 3D
  • Fog
  • Ambient
  • Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (Corner shadows)
  • Shadows
  • DirectX/OpenGL
There are many other graphics on ROBLOX, they are very complicated. But how is it possible with a script, (to an extent) create extra graphics on your game.

But before I start speaking about making them, lets get to understand them. And all you people who hate the idea of the Dynamic Lighting, prepare to be swayed!

Not many ROBLOXians appreciate the work ROBLOX put in making graphics, and how they make them is outstanding. With Dynamic Lighting, ROBLOX are only trying to make the aesthetics and realism better for you. And with the Dynamic Lighting people say "It's going to make us upgrade our computers", no it isn't. It's still going to be optional, it's just extra shaders, I've also heard people say "It ruins ROBLOX". But it doesn't. It's just people saying that because they don't know whether they can handle it. And you guys out there, reading who don't want the Dynamic Lighting, ask yourself "Would I like the Dynamic Lighting if ROBLOX had it?" Because, the truth is. You would like it. All of you would. You could possibly not know it, but you would. The reason for this is your eyes, your eyes are visually attracted to something graphical. Why do you think you always sit in your room on your 3DS or your iPad? Or even your PS3 bashin' out to a bit of Call of Duty? Because you're visually attracted to the graphics. Half the people who don't like the Dynamic Lighting are saying it to act "old" in ROBLOX. Graphics aren't just the look visually, it's also the realistic-ness of the game, perhaps you would have "moving" water on your game. That would visually attract some users, as it's very realistic to an extent.

Now that I've ranted a bit, and got that over with, lets talk about how users can make graphics just with simple code on RBX.Lua. Like I said, you can do anything from moving sea to character shadows. So lets get down to business!

Character Shadows;
These are more complicated than moving water, and such. Because with character shadows created by the creator of a game on ROBLOX that isn't made from the ROBLOX Graphics itself, is tricky. You would have to start off by cloning the parts inside the character into a model and cframing the model to always be a certain amount away from the character, using angles, cframe and all the other things. You would also need to clone the packages, if there is any, you could do this with an Array. Arrays are commonly used on minigames to find a random minigame out of that array. With that array, you would set a function to find the Robloxian 2.0 or 3.0 or whatever, and it is. Once you have learnt from the Roblox Wiki as much scripting as possible. You can start programming this...

Sea Movement;
Sea movement is an element of making a game look good, I usually use CFrame and BlockMesh for this, as it makes things easier. With CFrame you would use a for statement for the water to rise, and a for statement for the water to descend. Sea movement in a game is fairly easy, and takes not many tries.
